He takes it and examines it. "What the heck is this?" He mumbles. "Where did you even get it?"
“The physical representation of the power that was used to kill me.” He doesn’t answer the second question, “I trust you with it.”
He turns it over and over in his paws. "But... why trust me with it? I don't think I could protect an object of this power better than you could. If someone evil really wanted it, they could just pry it from my cold, dead hands."
"It's not a matter of strength, the stone provides enough of that if it was able to kill me. It's a matter of morality, I know I wouldn't be the right person, because I was killed exactly because I have too much strength and too little restraint." He begins serving people.

"I don't run on batteries, I'm afraid. Or was that a joke?" The cat on his belly scratches at his hand.
"You're here. You're alright. You have the right to be upset, but you're like a shaken-up soda bottle right now. You need to let the pressure off little by little so you don't explode. Understand?" His big spiral eyes stare into her. "Tell me what's wrong, one thing at a time."
"It was an attempt at a joke." he chuckles, petting a few cats after putting the relic away
"Okay..." she takes a breathe and exhales. "First, you disappeared without telling anybody that I know of."
He nods. "So, you seem pretty good with cats. Ever owned one before?"
"Alright. I understand now why you would be upset about that, but at the time I had no idea you were even more than vaguely aware of my existence. I'm sorry. If I leave again, I'll give proper warning."

"Well, why not destr- ...oh. That's why." He stares at the stone. "So... you want me to play the hero if you wind up being the villain?" He seems to be looking for a way to put it nicely.

“If I go insane, if anything bad happens and I lose it and become a risk, put me down. I’m not asking you as some kind of hero, I’m asking you as my friend.” He says, looking back over to them, “I trust you.”
He nods. "So, you seem pretty good with cats. Ever owned one before?"

"About 2 years ago" River says, shrugging.
"Are you kidding me? You were the only person I hung out with besides my family and boyfriend for the longest time.. Well, he's my fiancee now. We care about you, Felix. And it hurt to know what happened. That lion guy's been mopin' around, even though he didn't even know ya."
He picks up the one on his belly and places it on the counter. "Want another one?"
He nods, frowning.. "Is there anything I can do the make it up to you?"

He takes a deep, shaky breath and nods. "I'll... I'll take care of it." He stashes it in his apron. "So, uh, I'm... trying to learn a new vocation. I'm thinking theology. Cleric work." He's trying to change the subject. "I don't know what domain I want to specialize in, though. Probably the Hearth domain, but there are so many little variations that it's difficult to choose even within that domain."

He lets them, smiling returning as he thinks, "Sounds like a complex process, but you've been able to figure things out before. I'm not someone who knows these sort of things, but I may be able to help, if you'll allow me to try." He says, putting down a plate of stew for them, "Oh, and there's another thing I need to ask of you, this one much less grim. Could you help me improve my cooking?"

"I love more than you could ever love me."
"Don't be... I've been attached since the day we met, that's my fault."
She stops after they do, laughing at all the kiss marks on his face.

“Wouldn’t be the first time, but it’s true.” He holds Sebastian close.
She sighs, “But you’re more than that… it’s okay.”
“You look like I’ve never kissed before and practiced on you.” She says with a giggle.
He looks back over to them, raising an eyebrow curiously, “And what may that be?” He asks, trying to think up a name for them.
She nods, closing her eyes not to cry “You better write me.”
She makes one more, before lying down beside them, “I’ll start teaching you tomorrow.”

"Well, I'm not a regular tiefling, I used to not be a tiefling at all, but an Aasimar, like my brother."
She looks up at them with held back tears, "Okay... thank you."
"Yes, don't worry, we will start simple." She smiles at them, "May I eat, dear?"
