Omori doesn't know it until he's right behind her, snorting out smoke.
She slowly turns around, not really afraid- she's more confused and curious than anything else. "Donn, what's happening?" She asks, talking about the golden veins of corruption around the place.
Donn snorts again "Leave.. now." He snarls but doesn't dare lay a hand on her.
"I'll leave once I know what you're trying to do here. What is this?" She responds, mustering up some courage, though she's growing somewhat scared as well.
He growls and grumbles but moves past her like a shadow "Let me wallow alone child.."
"...talking about it might help..." She mutters, her fear once again melting away, concern taking its place. "If you really want me to leave you be, though, I will."
Donn sighs as the massive three-headed goat lies down in the grass besides her "Everyone left.. everyone has left me. My friend, my children, even my beloved.. they all left me to fester and rot.."
Omori is silent for a while, sitting down in the grass near him where she stands. "I'm so sorry that happened." Is all she can think to say, though it's clear she's trying to think of other comforting words- as much as this isn't her forte, she's trying her best.

Merabelle can't tell, but something big is right behind her and makes its presence finally known by snorting out smoke from its nostrils.
She takes a deep breath, radiance spilling from her out in all directions "Whatever ya are, can ya talk?" She asks out to the presence, turning to see if she sees it.
The radiance doesn't seem to affect whatever is behind her, two large goatish gold eyes staring at her.
"Leave... This.. place."
"This place o' yers seems ta be growin', so I can't. I'm just the local druid, Merabelle." She smiles up at them, putting her hands on her hips.
Suddenly, a goatish maw is in her face, baring teeth as sharp as razors. "LEAVE. DO NOT COME BACK MISERABLE INTRUSO!" It snarls.
She looks at the fangs, wiping the spit from her face with a finger, "I heard ya the first time, an' why do ya think I would?" She asks, smiling back with fangs just as sharp that line her mouth.
It opens its mouth as, from the back of its throat, golden sparks suddenly ignite a roaring burst of flame. [Make a CON save]

She is going to take 6 fire damage and get sent back 30 feet as this fiery breath knocks her backwards into a tree.
She dusts herself off after pushing herself back to her feet, pulling up her sleeves and cracking her knuckles “Now don’t be rude.”
"I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE. I WAS PATIENT. YOU ALL LEFT ME ONCE, WHY NOT JUST LEAVE ME ALONE RATHER THAN RIP AT MY STITCHES." He bellows, giant hooves scraping the ground as a massive three-headed goat makes it way from the darkness of the shadows.
She tilts her head, walking back over and looking up to them, “I ain’t never knew ya before, I wanna talk, that’s all I wanna do ta ya is talk things out, sweetheart. I ain’t gonna do anythin’ else, I’ll talk an’ then I’ll leave, okay?”

"Indeed- the longest games are the ones that have the most action, after all." It surveys the board, and makes its first move after a few seconds- moving its queen-side knight over its pawns and closer to the board's center. It seems to already have a plan.
He moves a pawn forward. The one in front of his king uses en passant. "Since we're just starting, do you know what you'll be wagering? For our first match, I don't intend to take anything too big from you." His move is calm and effortless, as if he didn't even need to think about it.

The stranger bows his head to Thirteen. "A fellow gamer. I spiced up the rules slightly, so I hope it will be able to entertain you. Perhaps they will even throw you off enough for me to win." He gestures to the empty seat. "How about a little bit of information to start with? Tell me something you want to learn, and I'll tell you if you win. However, if I win, I can ask you any question I want, and you must try and answer to the best of your ability. No magic involved."
Thirteen laughs a little when you call him a gamer. "Well that sounds like a good deal to me. I'm always happy to confer information anyway." He takes a seat.
"Wonderful. I doubt you'll have trouble remembering the rules, but just in case..." He picks up a long box and opens it. Inside are three items: a cigar guillotine with bandages and ointment, a pamphlet on chess rules with an almost empty roll of tape, and a stack of poker chips. "I have a few trinkets that could help you out, should you find them to your tastes." Each has a price listed in chess pieces. The pamphlet costs three pawns, the chips cost five of them, and the guillotine costs a queen. "New items will be available every ten rounds."
"Huh. Curious. Well, I'd like to know about magical panaceae." He examines the board again.
