Xan is in the library. He is smoking while reading a book on substance magic.
Oriel is turning the clouds into shapes like bunnies, horses, beholders, etc.
The Mimic-monster is eating a still-living human.
The chimera enters the library and looks at xan, before motioning to follow
Xan looks up and follows.
The chimera takes him down to the basement, where an unconscious figure lays, legs and arms tied together, "There they are." It says
Xan takes a drag of his cigarette and kneels down to the figure, examining it.
It seems to be younger than Chimera in regard to the parts of it that aren't animal, its lower legs past the knee blending into Lizard like scales, with 3 clawed toes. Its arms are made up of some sort of were beast, and it has a tail, like the chimera, but unlike the scorpion tail he has, this one has a normal tail, like that of a snake
"Mn" Xan says and stands back up "are you going to kill it?"
The chimera is quiet for a moment, "I am unsure. More things like me could be dangerous, and i would potentially learn something from eating it. However, they don't seem old. They're like a child in that regard."
"Then keep it because im not taking care of that" he said and narrowed his eyes "Or eat it."
"Why would you take care of it? Its not your kid," The chimera says, looking down at it for a while
Xan rolls his eyes "Eat it if you don't want trouble in your life" he said, his golden eyes glowing.
The chimera looks at the child, then at xan, "You should look away then."
*Time to prove chimera isn't human i guess lol*
*Xan just being like "I could give less a (gp)" *
Xan continues to watch.
I'm not going to describe it, for obvious reasons, but simplified down: The chimera injects the child with some form of poison via it's tail, which stops it's heart not soon after, before eating the corpse.
The door is opened by a three fingered hand with deep aqua-green skin. A cloaked figure walks instead quietly as if to try to avoid being noticed at all costs. They make their way to the library and sit down at a fairly dim corner of it.
They lower their hood, making sure no one is watching. They have the same deep aqua green skin that is covered in darker spots, 4 sets of deep purple eyes that glow slightly, and ten rubbery tentacles that protrude from their mouth. Each tentacle is adorn with a thin ring of silver. They wear a simple outfit made from silver, purple, black and crimson red.

The sound of quickly running feet can be heard, there seems to be multiple pairs, one of them sounds a bit like paws on the ground. If one were to look outside, they could perhaps see a rather strange sight. A pure black, female, 3'9 (including ears, 3'3 without them up) harengon is running around, being chased by a human, orc, hobgoblin, and dwarf. They all seem to be commoners, the harengon in some simple black, loose clothing, of which consists just of a tunic cut in half like a crop top and some leggings cut at the knees. The ones chasing her wear slightly fancier clothing. The harengon holds a bag of coin, and dodges and weaves and rolls through the groups poor attempts at grabbing her. They seem a bit drunk.
"Give it back, you filthy rodent cheater!' The dwarf cries out.
"I'm telling you all, that ace was pure luck!" The harengon argues back.
One could probably tell that they all came from some sort of betting game, and the harengon somehow won the entire pot. They all run around the front of a specific building, which happens to be named The Lord's Rest Inn.

Rankin, my hadozee, notices the comotion and comes outside, "What is happening?" He asks the harengon (want a description of him?)
*Absolutely*
They all pause, even the harengon. The four men look at the interruption with a laugh, coolly walking over, though the orc stays back and takes the opportunity to grab the harengon by the ears, lifting her way up off the ground as she curses in sylvan, kicking out at the open air. The human, who seems to be the face of the group, sets a hand on Rankin's shoulder, smiling slyly.
"Look, friend. That rodent cheated us out of a high stakes game, okay? Maybe if you let this little... incident slide, we'll give ya a split of the money, and we'll take the rodent to play with so your place doesn't get infected. Doesn't that sound like a good deal?"

Theren stares at the man who has his hand on his shoulder before grabbing it and attempting to break his wrist. 13
Theren doesn't fully break it, though he does find himself holding the man in a vicious arm lock, with him kicking and screaming,
"AGH, LET ME GO!"
The orc holds the harengon higher and walks over.
"Let him go."
"Let the harengon go or else your friend here is gonna have one hell of a day." Theren says while drawing his sword and putting it to the humans throat.
The human stops struggling a bit, staring at the orc.
"Let the damn rabbit go, you dumb brute! My life is more important than this!"
The orc glares at the two for a moment before tossing the harengon to the side, causing her to roll for a bit on the ground, where she lays, deeply breathing.

*Incase you don't know what hadozee are, they're like monkey people in the way harengon are rabbit folk. Rankin is a hadozee, around 4ft tall. He has almond brown fur, and a darker skin on their actual skin, kinda like chimpanzee or gorilla's do. They have silver eyes, which are full of confidence despite their smaller stature. Theren nods. "It also means that you wish to spend a lot more time with them, perhaps the rest of their life."
"Ooooh, so like roommates."
Theren sighs and shakes his head no. "No, more like romantical." he squeaks out the word romantical.
She tilts her head, "So.... how do you like me in that regard?" she asks, confused a bit
*-internal screaming- Idk how to explain romance!!!!*
"Well your nice, caring, a-and pretty." Theren says while turning a fiery red.
*MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!*
"P-pretty?" She seems to blush a bit, her fuzz taking on a pinkish hue, "You're saying such stuff,"
*Not funny ALARIC!*
"I mean it..."
*I FIND IT HILARIOUS.*
"M-meaning what?" She asks, both her sets of arms fidgeting with her fingers
*I SUCK WITH ROMANCE IRL! You have no idea how difficult this is for me-*
"It means its all true." Theren says while fidgeting with his book.
*I'm very good at romance irl, which is why i can torture you like this :D*
Serenity is quiet for a while, before simply snuggling against him again, "Thank you..." She says softly
*fjewiufniufbwbefwfbfbeuebuf. meanie*
Theren just nods, at a loss for words for once in his life.
*Hehehe, i love [WARNING, PLATONIC] ya too*
Serenity isn't sleeping, but for once isn't talking while snuggled
*-.-*
Theren just stares into the fire while humming
Serenity looks up at him every once in a while, eventually humming along aswell
Theren eventually rests his head on her shoulder.
She jumps a bit at him doing this, but doesn't leave, enjoying the company still
Theren throws a blanket over both of them and sighs, content.
[Content moth noises] serenity smiles, half asleep at this point
Theren smiles while humming a slow tune eventually he matches words to the song.
Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away ere break of day To seek the pale enchanted gold.
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells, While hammers fell like ringing bells In places deep, where dark things sleep, In hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord There many a gleaming golden hoard They shaped and wrought, and light they caught To hide in gems on hilt of sword.
On silver necklaces they strung The flowering stars, on crowns they hung The dragon-fire, in twisted wire They meshed the light of moon and sun.
Far over the misty mountains cold To dungeons deep and caverns old We must away, ere break of day, To claim our long-forgotten gold.
Goblets they carved there for themselves And harps of gold; where no man delves There lay they long, and many a song Was sung unheard by men or elves.
The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night. The fire was red, it flaming spread; The trees like torches blazed with light.
The bells were ringing in the dale And men they looked up with faces pale; The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire Laid low their towers and houses frail.
The mountain smoked beneath the moon; The dwarves they heard the tramp of doom. They fled their hall to dying fall Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.
Far over the misty mountains grim To dungeons deep and caverns dim We must away, ere break of day, To win our harps and gold from him!

She looks up at him with a pair of deep sapphire eyes, smiling. "I'm great! HA! Those dummies didn't even notice I pickpocketed them for extra money as we were dancing around! Thanks for getting them to run off, by the way. My name's Ysabel."
Theren smiles back. "Names Theren Dotsk, and no problem. It's kinda my job." he says while extending a hand to help her up.

He wears pants with no shirt, and is evidently well built for the usual creature his size* *This guys one of my favorite ideas i've had recently :D*
"Hm, and what would you be doing with them should i agree?" He asks, looking at the harengon. (he does speak sylvan btw), "And what if i don't want you taking someone based off of what i've heard?"
The human chuckled, patting the hadozee's shoulder with a [1gp]-eating grin as he stares at the harengon.
"Eh, we'll take turns getting our money and trouble's worth outta her. In a private place, of course. Some things are best left out of public, heh."
He frowns a bit upon hearing the hadozee's second question.
"Well, there's at least three of us, and at most two of you."

The slump down in their seat and curl up.

The human stops struggling a bit, staring at the orc.
"Let the damn rabbit go, you dumb brute! My life is more important than this!"
The orc glares at the two for a moment before tossing the harengon to the side, causing her to roll for a bit on the ground, where she lays, deeply breathing.

Theren lets go of the man but keeps his sword out. "Run along now, and leave the harengon." he says with a growl and the runes on his right arm glowing bright.

Theren smiles while humming a slow tune eventually he matches words to the song.
Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away ere break of day
To seek the pale enchanted gold.
The dwarves of yore made mighty spells,
While hammers fell like ringing bells
In places deep, where dark things sleep,
In hollow halls beneath the fells.
For ancient king and elvish lord
There many a gleaming golden hoard
They shaped and wrought, and light they caught
To hide in gems on hilt of sword.
On silver necklaces they strung
The flowering stars, on crowns they hung
The dragon-fire, in twisted wire
They meshed the light of moon and sun.
Far over the misty mountains cold
To dungeons deep and caverns old
We must away, ere break of day,
To claim our long-forgotten gold.
Goblets they carved there for themselves
And harps of gold; where no man delves
There lay they long, and many a song
Was sung unheard by men or elves.
The pines were roaring on the height,
The winds were moaning in the night.
The fire was red, it flaming spread;
The trees like torches blazed with light.
The bells were ringing in the dale
And men they looked up with faces pale;
The dragon’s ire more fierce than fire
Laid low their towers and houses frail.
The mountain smoked beneath the moon;
The dwarves they heard the tramp of doom.
They fled their hall to dying fall
Beneath his feet, beneath the moon.
Far over the misty mountains grim
To dungeons deep and caverns dim
We must away, ere break of day,
To win our harps and gold from him!
