Jack is outside, picking over books on how to remove curses. He seems a bit concerned, the skin around his hands and arms have turned black and started to decay. He is trying to cover it by wearing a long-sleeved black sweater.

Lore is battling an Umber Hulk in the deep tunnels underneath the tavern. She fires a fireball, hoping to hit, but the beam soars past it as it dodges to the side. She curses as she soon finds herself beneath it, its mandibles trying to snap at her.

Aix is tearing flesh off a body. He looks rabid almost, in his werewolf form, while eating. He teeth and jaws are stained with deep crimson blood. The body belongs to a halfling whose hair is the color of autumn leaves.

 Phoenix plops down beside him, looking concerned.

Theren comes out of nowhere and fires his bow. Attack: 24 Damage: 25

 Jack jumps a bit "Oh good morning" he says

Lore yelps and ducks her head as the Umber Hulk gets the arrow stuck right in its eye

 "Whats happening to you Jackson." Phoenix says with a slightly angry tone

"We gotta stop meeting like this Lore." Theren says. He then yells at the Umber Hulk, "COME AND GET SOME!" He fires his bow again. Attack: 24 Damage: 19

 "Curse..." he said and gave a nervous smile. 

Lore chuckles and stands up. The Umber hulk roars and charges at him only to be hit with the arrow again in its armor-like plating.

 "I swear Jack, dont die on me."

Theren looks dead serious as he starts to duel wield longswords. Attack: Dice rolls not yet available for this section. Damage: Dice rolls not yet available for this section. Attack: Dice rolls not yet available for this section. Damage: Dice rolls not yet available for this section.

 "Ill be fine..." he says and looks down at the ground. 

(oof)

 Phoenix grabs Jacks chin, a little angrily. "Dont lie to me."

Attack: 24 Damage: 22

Attack: 23 Damage: 18

 Jack looks him in the eyes and pulls away. 

They both hit as the Umber Hulk barely has any time to even any time to react

 "Jack. Tell me what I can do to help."

Theren starts to taunt it. "Wow! And they said that you creatures were tough! Nothing but an insect in a shell!"

 "You cant do anything to help..." he says "I have to cure this by magical means..." He walks over to a table piled high with books on curses. 

Lore folds her arms and rolls her eyes "Stop being cocky" she said and tapped him on his shoulder, he gains +3 ac, "These things can rip people in halve"

 "Still I want to help." Phoenix says, following him.

"What? It hasn't done anything yet." Theren says ashing out at the monster again.

Attack: 11 Damage: 21

Attack: 9 Damage: 20

 "I know... Its just something that is bad and quite powerful" he says

'STILL. I DONT NEED YOU DEAD" she said and casts Water Orb. It holds the Umber Hulk in its cold grip as it fights to breathe and get out. 

 "So, anything can be defeated."

Theren sighs and puts the swords in the sheathes on his back. "Ok, ok."

 "Mn..." he stays quiet.

"Good" she said and bops his head gently with her staff

 "Talk to me, please Jack...."

Theren smiles a little. "Yeah yeah. So what do we do with this guy?" Theren asks, motioning at the Hulk.

 "Its a curse. Im going to find a way to get rid of it. What else is there to discuss?"

"Drown it? It cant go anywhere when trapped in the orb?"

 "I feel like there is more to it that you aren't telling me."

"Can I fight it though."

 "Im fine" He says. He seems agitated and angry. 

"Hm. You sure?" she askes and chuckles

 "Ok. I'll leave it be." Phoenix says. He then pulls Jack into a hug. "Dont die on me."

"Yeah definitely." Theren says, pulling out his swords and spinning them.

 Jack face turns a bit red as he nods "I wont.... if you dont get into anymore fights." He says and takes Phoenix's hand and kisses the back of it.

She chuckles again and releases the Umber Hulk.

 Phoenix blushes. "I wont. I swear on it."

Theren spins is swords, a glint in his eyes. "Lets dance."

Attack: 24 Damage: 16

Attack: 21 Damage: 20

 "Good" he says and sits down. 

The Umber hulk is taken by off guard as it tries to pour the water out of its lungs. It takes the blade to the face and skull.

 Phoenix nods and sits down next to Jack.

"Come on you beast! Put up a fight!"

Attack: 24 Damage: 30

Attack: 15 Damage: 15

 Jack leans on him a bit and lifts up his mask. 

"Theren. It just choked back magical water. Its bound to be 'washed up'" she laughs at her own joke

 Phoenix lets this happen.

"Still. I've been half-drowned and put up a better fight than this overgrown dung beetle."

Attack: 16 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

Attack: 24 Damage: 17

 Jack looks a him for a moment before coughing "Anyways i found a promising book on curses or different realms"

She chuckles again and sits down and watches

 Phoenix eyes sparkle with excitement. "Thats good right!"

Theren continues to attack. He looks very focused.

Attack: 14 Damage: 22

Attack: 9 Damage: 20

 "Yep!" he says with a smile.

Lore cheers him on.

 Phoenix smiles. "This is excellent news!"

Theren smirks as he continues to attack. He also continues to taunt the Hulk.

Attack: 26 Damage: 30

Attack: 25 Damage: 29

 He nods again and begins to flip through it. 

The Umber hulk keels over, breathing heavy as it tries to crawl away.

 Phoenix reads over his shoulder.

Theren raises his swords and goes to finish the job.

Attack: 11 Damage: 27

Attack: 15 Damage: 19

 The book talks about using energies from feywild beings and celestials to get rid of the curse.

The Umber Hulk falls dead

 Phoenix starts to fall asleep a little.

Theren cleans his swords and sheathes them. "See, told ya." he says with a goofy grin

 Jack looks over and smiles "Hey buddy. If i have to study, so do you"

Lore grins and gives thumbs up "Look at you go"

 Phoenix nods. "ok."

"Yeah!"

 He chuckles and continues to read

She stands up and works her way out of the tunnels
