"I've been marked before. A generational curse, placed by an entity beyond this reality. Post mortem, I met a great and powerful occultist in the underworld. He granted me a boon in trade for allowing him to study my affliction. This device keeps me alive. It's my most valuable possession. I respect your work, I truly do, but It's lost its majesty to me."
