Ernst is watching from a distance. He's making a quick sketch of the elk, seemingly uninterested in Yuri.
*Truesight:*
Ernst is actually a massive, gargantuan snake with shimmering black-and-orange scales. When I say massive, I mean building-crushing massive. Fortunately, he's polymorphed right now into a humanoid form, so he's not breaking anything.
Yuri looks over as her eyes sparkle "Ooh! Snake!" she said and walked over, her elken pets following.
"Not so loud, please. Many people are afraid of apocalyptically-sized snakes." The ringmaster seems mildly uncomfortable. *Did she see how his carnival came to town?*
*Not yet*
She grins "Your scales are lovely" she purrs.
"Thank you. They look like that due to my diet. Have you been to my carnival yet, by any chance?"
"No. Ive only been to the Witch-light carnival and that wasnt fun."
"Mine is fun, but less so if you have truesight. It makes the danger seem less real."
"Hm, well i have it and cant get rid of it but i dont care." she chirped and grinned again
He gestures for her to follow and begins to lead her to the carnival. It isn't too far away, but she can tell just by looking at it that the work of Balhanoths is present.
She spins around, taking it all in. "Oooo! Zenix would like this."
"You could bring him of you'd like. Admission into the carnival is free,"
"Eh. he disappears from time to time, once he gets back, ill drag him here." she purrs

Phoenix walks up to Jack hiding one of his hands.
Jackson doesnt need to open his eyes. "What did you do?" he askes.
"I-i d-dont know. My hand is just on fire!"
Jack sighs and opens his eyes, they are pools of pure white and glowing. He lowers himself to the ground and holds out a hand "Let me see."
Phoenix shows him his hand wreathed in faerie fire.
"Ah. A spell." He said and grinned "faerie fire no less, someone wanted to find you." he said
"W-whaddya mean?"
"Faerie fire is a spell that is used to find someone, Dispel magic should help you." he said and smiled, casting it.
The light disappears then comes back."
"Hm." he said and closed his eyes, thinking for a moment. "Antimagic field could work."
"J-jack...i mightve summoned it..."
"Hm?" he looks up, surprised "How? When?"
"It was dark and i misplaced my NVG's....and i thought about light and this appeared."
"Hm." he said and pulled out his spell-book and began to cast the ritual for detect magic. Alongside it he casts, despite it being a 9th level spell, View the Past.
The magic seems to be coming from Phoenix. The View the Past spell shows Phoenix casting it in a panic.
Jack grins widely as he looks up, his glowing white eyes meeting Phoenix's. "You casted it dear!" he says and claps his hands
"W-what? How?"
"I have no idea. Pure will perhaps? Some sorcerers are born with it."
PHoenix shakes his head no. "I was born human to humans. We were all normal..."
"Humans have magic too Phoenix." he said and chuckled.
"I know but no one in my family can do magic..."
"Still." he said and smiled "This is amazing Phoenix!"
Phoenix shakes his lit hand. The fire goes out. "H-how come?"

The carnival looks, at least from a normal person's perspective, terrifying. Rickety buildings, monsters in cages, unspeakable things lurking in dark corners... but with Truesight, most of the things here are simply artifice. Illusion magic is used to make everything look dangerous, but the baby tarrasque is just a sleepy little lizard in reality, and the buildings are structurally sound. The unspeakable things are real, though, but they're just more carnival-goers and carnies that happen to be monsters. With her truesight, Yuri can see that the big top is pulsing with orange light, beating like a heart.
