*I'm working on a modification to Out of the Abyss so that it's set in my homebrew world. I also missed a session of my favorite campaign that I'm in yesterday, and I haven't gotten over it yet.*

A doorway of golden energy opens like a normal door would as an older man, perhaps around his late 40's stood there. His golden eyes shone brilliantly with hour-minute hand like pupils that seemed to tick onwards, his skin was fair and slightly tanned, his hair was dirty blonde cut neatly and brushed to one side, giving him a dramatic swooping bangs. He was dressed in a brown suit, three-piece suit with a gold-colored tie and a golden pocket-square. A cane formed in his hands, it resembled a grand-father clock but thinner and with a smaller, moving pendulum inside. He picked a gold-plated pocket-watch from his breast pocket and sighed, turning the dial until it stopped.
He looked around and grumbled. "Five minutes Watcher... No more no less."
The Abyss sees this and mutters "So many powerful beings here... it's enough to make one feel unsafe."
The Watcher looks over and raises an eyebrow "Ah The Abyss!" he said and grins "Hello!"
The Abyss cradles its child. "Hello, Mr... I'm afraid I don't quite know your name. You don't seem to be present in my world. At least, not as an entity."
"Call me The Watcher." He said in a warm manner, giving a small smile "Im always cooped up in my pocket dimension looking over the world and its changes." He tapped his index finger against his temple, as if gesturing to his eyes.
"That must be very disappointing. I'm sorry you have to endure that."
"Bah, I dont need pity!" He said and chuckled, waving a hand "We all have my job and that is mine"
The Abyss bounces the child gently. "Well, it is a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Watcher. You most likely already know this child's name, so I need not introduce it to you. Is there anything you would like? A cup of tea? A sandwich? I assume you already have incredible power, or feel no need to gain it, so I won't offer you that."
"I have no need for anything. Food and Water are merely constructs that my body doesnt need." He says and chuckles "As for power? yes i have that but i am mortal like any other and i much prefer it like that."
"I have no need for anything. Food and Water are merely constructs that my body doesnt need." He says and chuckles "As for power? yes i have that but i am mortal like any other and i much prefer it like that."
"Whether a creature needs something or not does not determine whether it desires the thing. I respect your decision, however." Terantus begins to fuss. The Abyss conjures a baby bottle full of some black substance and begins to feed the creature. "What is your reason for coming here? Simple boredom?"

"Unfortunalty yes. I would much rather say there is something to be done but being in a pocket dimension for so long will break one's mind." he clicked his tongue "A broken clock can be replaced but never repaired"

"My main hobby is mostly just enabling souls to corrupt themselves. I then collect their flesh when they die to use as summoning materials. My aim is to make a child of my own kind, as opposed to a pitiful human that would rather devote itself to 'morals' that it frequently betrays as opposed to spending time with me, its father." The oddly specific scenario is spoken with a sharp bitterness.

The Watcher blinks his golden eyes and tilts his head. "No child ever truly hates their father. I have seen times where a child may exact vengeance but only because they wished there would be another way or, perhaps, there was no other way." He smiled.

The Abyss doesn't respond for about ten seconds. "They don't want anything to do with me. They said I was 'hedonistic' and 'amoral,' when everything I did was for them. It's hard to believe they meant no harm when all seven of them left me, knowing that they were my entire world. Maybe I smothered them. I don't know. All I know is that first they started spending most of their time with humans, then they left me for not conforming to an alien set of moral laws."

The Watcher stepped forward and placed his splayed fingertips on top of The Abyss's mask. His eyes turned into pools of molten gold as the hands of his pocket-watch in his hand suddenly spun around violently.

Curse the fiends, their children too... And their children, forever true...
The Abyss rises from a mass of monstrous corpses in the deepest, darkest depths of the ocean. "I am so sorry... you are forgiven for your monstrosity, and you will be named the Abyss," comes a voice that shatters the mind and senses with its beauty. "Thank you, my Lord," replies the ragged voice of the Abyss.
The world swirls. Time warps...
The Abyss stands in a nightmarish world, newly born and made of flesh and metal. "Rise, my children, your father beckons." Seven hideous shapes bubble up from the flesh and steel. "We are the last monsters. Our ancestors were slaughtered for their forms. As such, we will take them in and act of forgiveness, and show them that there ios more to us than our bodies." The children crawl to the Abyss, curling around the blasphemous thing. "We will not be alone anymore..."
The nightmare spins, a cruelty to the senses.
"Please... don't leave..." The Abyss begs, lying on the ground. "You're evil. You only care about comfort. You have so much power and you don't help anyone with it." Pride was furious. Wrath walked out the door. "No... I... I need you..." "Exactly!" Shouts Lust, "You need us! We don't need you! No one does. Because of you, our names are curses, sins beyond forgiveness of any beyond Falderath!" The Abyss sobs. "Please... I didn't know... give me another chance." The horrors leave. Gluttony is the last, looking conflicted. "U-um, bye Dad." "Goodbye... son..." The Abyss curls up into a ball, whimpering, seawater pooling on the floor.
Again, the senses are rent apart.
The Abyss, now in the form of the Wizard, stands over a crowd. "Your sins are forgiven!" It lies through its grinding teeth. "I bring not death, but gifts! You need only ask for them!" "Can you cure my cancer?" "Of course!" "You can help him? C-could you make me rich?" "Why couldn't I? Take some gold!" They beg and grovel, turning away from their morals, worshipping the Abyss like a god. Trading away their humanity for a taste of unearthly power, knowing the cost in both mind and heart. A perfect punishment.

The Watcher pulls away and blinks his golden eyes before smiling. That smile turns into a chuckle and that chuckle turn into a laugh. "Oh you poor thing!" He said and tries to take a deep breath, calming himself down. He steps closer to The Abyss and holds out a gloved hand, prompting The Abyss to take it. "Your not a bad father! Do not take my laughter for mockery or amusement but for understanding." he said "Your children, yes, were mad at you but part of the reason they left is that they had grown up and needed to leave the proverbial nest."

"Your words bring me little comfort. They have cut all ties with me, excluding Gluttony, who fears me because of what its siblings have told it about me. They spread rumors and legends to try and thwart me, but they cannot fight the nature of humans. Mortals will succumb to their baser natures eventually. I will never let the temptation die down, a relentless onslaught of potential comfort and power. They will know the cost, and they will indulge anyway. I do no evil, I simply give people what they want."

"If it will entertain you or help you understand, you are welcome to." The Abyss gives a sweeping bow.

Because of you, our names are curses, sins beyond forgiveness of any beyond Falderath!"
The Abyss sobs. "Please... I didn't know... give me another chance." The horrors leave. Gluttony is the last, looking conflicted. "U-um, bye Dad."
"Goodbye... son..." The Abyss curls up into a ball, whimpering, seawater pooling on the floor.
Again, the senses are rent apart.
The Abyss, now in the form of the Wizard, stands over a crowd. "Your sins are forgiven!" It lies through its grinding teeth. "I bring not death, but gifts! You need only ask for them!"
"Can you cure my cancer?" "Of course!" "You can help him? C-could you make me rich?" "Why couldn't I? Take some gold!"
They beg and grovel, turning away from their morals, worshipping the Abyss like a god. Trading away their humanity for a taste of unearthly power, knowing the cost in both mind and heart. A perfect punishment.
Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
