It's a late winter afternoon, snow settling on the ground all around the town. The sun was starting to set, lanterns illuminating what was darkened by shadow, from tavern doorsteps to the rooms inside. Over the town, clouds move slowly, half blocking out the sky as it snows.
The sound of footsteps crunching in snow, fast paced, running, draws the camera to the exit of an alley. After a few moments a man deep crimson robes races out of the alley, making hand symbols as a wall of fire blocks the alley he just came from. He keeps running, eyes glowing a fiery red as he lets out a laugh. Then, a figure dives through the wall of flame, protecting themselves with a cape, unclipping it from their leather armor and continueing to chase the now frightened mage as the cape gets put out by snow.
The chase continues the Mage very obviously slower than their pursuer. Slinging spells behind him, the man attempts to throw off the leather clad figure. Fire lights up the snowy walkways as the pair run out of the unaware town into a snowy field. The leather clad figure looks over their shoulder for a moment, nodding to themselves. They then raise an arm, a wrist mounted crossbow firing at the fleeing mage, piercing through their hand as they attempt another hand symbol.
They turn back one last time, swishing their hand at the figure in an attempt at the spell, but nothing happens. A quick pullback of the camera reveals the cause, a shimmering barrier that has formed out of the magicians peirced hand. He seems to panic as the figure sprints forward, slamming their palm into the mages face, using the momentum and a well placed heel to knock them off their first, driving them into the snowy ground skull first. The Mage grabs the figures arm, trying to pry their hand from their face to no avail.
As the shimmering barrier recedes into the wrist bolt shot through the mage's hand, the figure speaks, voice gravelly and low, "By the law of the gods of justice, the gods of vengeance, and the gods of order, you are unworthy of your abilities." He says, the air crackling with energy as the figures leather gloves lights up with runes, the sorcerer letting out a blood curdling cry as the very concept of their magic seems to be ripped from every cell in their body, the snow around them melting as fire magic is pulled into the air. Soon, the figure removes their hand from the mages skull.
The mages eyes are charcoal black now instead of the fiery orange they previously were, the Mage limp from the procedure. The figure stands, leaving the unconcious Mage in the snow as they walk away, pulling up their hood
"And yet you still called upon what you decided was good justice." his tone is laced with disgust. "You should've brought them to the gods for judgement. You should know better Archangel Raphael."
"I did bring them to the gods for judgement. Where else do you think their souls are now?"
"While they were still ALIVE!" he says
“A fair point. Was my consultation with Helios and Torm via Tibus not enough?”
"Counsel needs to be held with the Elders before wiping out a whole POPULATION OF PEOPLE!" he says, temper rising

*Oh good to know this seems really exciting!*
*mhm :>. This town is actually within the next couple towns on his map ;D*
*Here's an idea: so the Egregore was originally this big scary monster inspired by Pan's Labrynth's Pale Man and Over the Garden Wall's Beast. What if I brought back those concepts, but he preys on adults instead of children? He lures them in with gold and wine and power and nobility, but then shows his true colors once they try and steal from him.*

11. The weak swordsman clings to his instrument. It is better you have a sword, but death must lie under your fingernails, if need be. Learn death with your elbows, death with your knees, and death with your thumbs and fingertips. It is said death with the tongue is useful, but I find words too soft an instrument to smash a man’s skull.
*don't know why it posted, but I edited it to the finished part*
*Oh jeez it's this guy again...*
