They both fail. Tendrils of inky darkness rise from the ground and snag at her legs, bringing her to the ground. She is going to take 16 necrotic damage as she feels her own life force start to drain from her. William kneels beside her, sighing. He runs his fingers through her hair and wrenches her head upwards to meet his eyes. "Wrong spot at the wrong time.. too bad."
