During the eclipse yesterday, a pillar of fire erupted from the ground a distance away from the town. Now, the next day, smoke rises from that spot still
A creature made of a black tar like substance is sat on the town square fountain, kicking its feet as they hang off the edge
Rory still hasn't opened the shrine, and people have crowded around outside. Some are seeming concerned, others curious to what's going on, and more are aggravated at it still being shut down
-free choice-
Nick forces his way through the crowd and knocks on the door.
After a few seconds, rory speaks through the door, "I-I'm sorry, w-we're still closed...."
"Rory...its me Nick..can I come in?"
After a few seconds there's a click, and nick is swiftly pulled inside, much to the argument of the horde surrounding the door, who try to get in before rory shuts and locks the door again

A humanoid covered in a black velvety substance is walking around the fountain, being evangelistic.

Vincent is outside, his eyes closed. He seems to assemble and disassemble his pistol at lighting fast speeds, timing himself on a small stopwatch. A man stands over him, smoking a cigar. He wears the same uniform as Vincent. His skin is the color of honey and his hair and beard are the color of raven's feathers. He says something in another language that sounds like gentle praise for how well Vincent is doing.
Soap is outside with Romero and Lock, running laps to pass the time. Lock is very far ahead while Romero and Soap try to catch up.
A little black goat is pawing at the ground in the forest, bleating. It keeps digging at this one spot feverishly, trying to dig something up.
Caramel the undead cat walks up in front of it, watching carefully.
*I’ll deploy the chopper*
It stares back at Caramel, tilting its head.
She approaches and attempts to place her paw against the goat.
It jumps away, bleating in fear.
In the dirt, Caramel writes the words “CAN YOU UNDERSTAND LANGUAGE?”
It nods suddenly, blinking slowly.
She wipes the message out and then writes “I CAN’T TALK TO YOU IF I CAN’T COME IN CONTACT WITH YOU”
