Erebus sleeps in the darkness of minds, the little shadows that call out to you. The comforting world as you close your eyes. He knows what you fear but also knows what you love. He has watched kingdoms fall, rise, and fall once more. His eyes have watched as his sister and brothers formed the sky, the seas, the world. It was beautiful and he wanted to create something of his own.
From threads of gold and a heart made of bronze, he forged a daughter. He named her Fos, his light. She was nothing compared to other gods and such but to him, she was a princess.
Her skin was the same inky blackness of her father's. Her arms long and skeletal with sinews holding them together like string. She had a long tail, twice the length of her body that was fitted with glowing golden scales. Her eyes were large and pitch black to see in the dark realm of her father's. While she had a face, it wasn't actually used for anything other than talking. Her real mouth was along the expanse of her stomach, giant gaping thing that sensed the wavering movement of creatures in the dark and gulped them down with needle-like teeth.
Fos was odd to say the least, but what do you expect from the daughter of Darkness.
Something bubbles to the surface of the lake near the tavern, like a puddle of ink spreading out across the watery surface. A small head pops out from the inky waters, looking around with large black eyes ins curious manner. Long silver hair floats around like a halo.
Lazarus is quite startled, as chilling in the lake is some of his favorite passtimes. "Who are you?" they ask, above the surface

They look up as him, big black eyes staring back at him. They point up at the sun.
The effigy is scattering seeds by the edge of the lake.
The thing blinks at him and waves a small webbed hand.
It crouches down. "I grew up near a river. It was cursed, and it twisted all the plants near it. Is this lake like that?"
They stare a moment more before shaking their head.
"That's mighty good." It tosses the last of the seeds to the side before dipping a hand into the water, extinguishing the embers. It then offers the wicker claw to the girl. "It may be a fine day, but that don't mean you oughta be catching a disease while you catch fish."

She blinks at him before biting his finger. It's not a mean bite, more like how a toddler uses their mouth to understand things better.

It tastes like applewood smoke and charred barbecue sauce. Spicy, sweet, savory. The wickerman doesn't seem offended by this. "My name is Josiah Bennett."
They look up as him, big black eyes staring back at him. They point up at the sun.
They wade in the water away from the creature. "As in the manifestation of the Sun, the radiant wound?"
*Divine sense, as per paladin class, pick up anything?*
He senses this thing is a creature of darkness but not of evil. It blinks at him, swimming around him curiously.
"Can you speak, telepathically or otherwise?"
*Well if they are within 10 ft, I would think they qualify for Lazarus' aura of hate, and get empowered slightly*
It nods, wiggling happily. It reaches out to him.
Lazarus remains at a slight distance. "Speak, I request."
A small child-like face rises a bit from the water. Her cheeks dotted with golden freckles that seem to glow slightly. Her long silver hair sticking to her head like a veil. She opens her small mouth and makes a small noise that can only be described as a gurgle.

She runs her small hands over his clawed hand, fascinated. She doesn't let him go either, clinging him like a little koala would. She giggles, but it sounds more like a gurgle.

A small, timid voice fills his head <Papa said this place is nice so I swam up!>
Meroving walks up to it, waving. "who might you be?"
