"Because fate is spiteful. It sees joy and happiness, but it knows that it has to make people miserable day after day, and it gets angry about it. It's all madness, and it feeds into itself in a cruel, unrelenting cycle. The cure will come. I just have to keep at it."
"Me too, bossman. You're a good person. But you remain ignorant of you own ignorance, like us. We all need to learn about each other. I have a secret, if you'll listen. So you can know me better."
"I'm not good at keeping at things.." he flips back on to the ground, sighing. "Some days it's harder to keep on living, let alone thinking, because it's a pressure on my body...."
He nods quietly "I am willing to listen.'
"Have you tried writing about that? Or talking to someone?"
Felix leans close and begins to whisper. "I may love you like a father now, but when I first met you I wanted to put your skull on a new and terrifying axis. Cannibalism disgusts me to no end. It is a vile practice. Have you read the history of Honkachu? For decades we had human tyrants who took our food and had us eat each other. They told us to boil our infants. And we did. It was a miracle that I survived past the age of one. My growth was stunted because of my mother's malnutrition, and she had already eaten all but two of my siblings. Only me and my brother survived our eternal winter, and only by eating our older sister. Fried in what little fat she had left. You have beautiful ideals, but you chose the wrong way to express them. I don't blame you for it. It's my own personal bias, and you shouldn't have to suffer for it. But now you know my position on such things." He slides back into the chair.
"Might be fun to you, doesn't seem like actual fun to me."
"it's not fun for me either. been working on this for a while now and I have still made no progress"

"It magnifys the gravity of the area around me. Anything I'm not holding or wearing becomes incredibly heavy. It only requires the correct words and movements. It does put strain on the body and mind like any other spell though."
"Amazing. And that's a paladin spell?"

The Shredder is carrying the corpse of someone who dared to try and challenge him over his shoulder, the kill fresh. Blood drips down his armor, none of it his own, as he looks for a place to make a shallow grave.
Damian is learning how to make waffles, and failing in the kitchen.
Benimaru is drinking, what else would he be doing other than killing infernals or drinking.
