So spend your hours on What you think I've done wrong I know I'm in your mind I've been here way too long I want to spend my life With those who've done me right Your heart is frozen over I'm a four-leaf clover
“Until I can get a different job, I’m probably gonna stay here.” Mauric says passively. “But if you spent all your money on the ring, how will you afford land deeds?”
The bullet misses just barely. Loriche runs after him and attempts to grapple him. “Nice try.” Strength: 13
"If I'm going to be honest, I am willing to go into debt for a happy family." He says with another chuckle "But that doesn't sound like a good idea now that I say it out loud."
He tries to push her off of him "What''s your problem lady?!" Strength Contest:20
“No, that’s an admirable mindset. But if you go too far below the line, you’re bound for failure regardless if you’re the happiest man in the world.”
Loriche is unable to keep her grip on him. “How did you know I was a woman? This armor has no gendered features!”
"Yeah, so I'll have to figure all of that out soon either way once I find a steady job outside of here." He says with a smile "You're great man, I needed this talk."
"Do you think I'm [gp]ing deaf?" He runs 30ft and tries to hide again after firing at her a third time. To hit:19 Damage:16 Stealth:24
“No problem. I know you’re gonna live the rest of your life in bliss. Well, partial bliss. The rest will be restless stress from taking care of a child. But it’ll be BLISSFUL stress!”
His shot misses once more. Loriche chases after him, but he successfully loses her.
"Ah my comfort zone, Blissful stress." He laughs and pats his back before heading to the tavern "I should put this suit up before she has a chance to see it. It's my wedding suit after all."
His voice comes from the forest "Leave me alone lady, you make money your way, I make money mine."
“Alright. I got a few things I’ve been putting off today anyway, so I guess I’ll see you around!” Mauric waves and smiles at Damian and walks off.
“No! I make cool magic swords and buckets and chains and horseshoes and stuff! You shoot people and steal things! These are fundamentally different concepts!”
He waves his friend off and goes into the tavern, leaving his suit in his room, putting the ring in his back pocket.
“You don’t know if those were good people! They probably stole all of this money anyway! It doesn’t matter how cool your swords are, mind your own business!”
“You’re not in a position to bargain here. You’ll run out of ammo eventually. But I don’t need food, sleep, or air, AND my armor is naturally electrified, AND I’m trained in combat styles from the minotaurs that inhabited this forest in the age before any construct of Man was in this region.”
“And I have a knife as well as a gun!” He says with a boisterous laugh “I’m not afraid of you or anything else after all I’ve seen. Either way, I’m not bargaining I’m telling you, you should let me go, because I can’t cast healing magic.”
“Ooh, everyone look out for the big scary man with his big scary knife, as if 40% of the people here couldn’t level nations with a sneeze. Just give back the gold and don’t let me catch you in my woods. I’ve been here for centuries; you’re another forgettable face with nothing worthwhile to offer.”
“I don’t care how forgettable I am, I did nothing to you, you shoot lightning at me. I shoot you back, you have the arrogance to [gp]ing complain about it. Insulting me won’t convince me to do anything other than shoot you again!” He stops and process what she said “Wait what was that about a sneeze?”
“Something like two gods and six demon princes here, I think. And most of them could indeed clear out this whole province in their sleep.”
He sighs and walks out of the woods “I’m [gp]ing dead aren’t I?” He says with another sigh “I really thought this was like anywhere else, but you don’t sound like you’re lying.”
“A bunch of ghost riders hired me to make them nets to drag lost souls to the afterlife, and their archdemon boss gave me a bunch of magic steel from his hell for the lustful to help me finish it. I don’t lie about these things.”
He holds up his hands, holstering his gun and sheathing his dagger “That’s my fault for doubting, my name is Jason, I’m just doing all of this to survive, don’t kill me or anything.” He says, shaking his head “Please?”
“Fine. Whatever you say.” He laughs “I need to get something tomorrow.” He runs out quickly
*The next day*
Damian is in the tavern, waiting for Saphuno to give her something, which is the thing he needed to get. He’s got his regular clothes on, and is sitting at the counter.
She walks out of her room just around 10:30. She's a bit scrunkly, still in her PJ's and yawning. She immediatley heads to make coffee.
He seems to be more stressed than he was even yesterday, just drinking his water with a shaky hand, also he’s drinking water, which is definitely out of the ordinary for the frequent alcoholic that is Damian.
After making coffee, she sets a mug down in front of him, sipping from hers as she sits down next to him. "hey, love."
He gets shakier as she sits next to him, although his eyes are soft “Hello babe, how are you today?” He says, one of his hands rummaging through his back pocket, like he’s looking for something.

I’d take my helmet off to express my humanity, but… if I take it off I die, so… anyway, I’m Loriche. I shouldn’t have hit you with lightning. I’m gonna leave you alone, and if you decide to give the gold back that’s awesome, but it’s your life to live.”

*cut for Riotan, sorry my replies are taking so long. my internet is abysmal rn.*
Riotan strides up next to the angel, staring into their eyes with gleeful malice. “How interesting…”
If writhes about, snarling. Stroth silences it with a curb stomp to the skull "Anyways, I was thinking about using it for something. You want the parts I don't need?"
“Sure. Could be useful. But there’s something I’d also like to take, if you don’t object to me being here for a bit longer. As I probably mentioned, I eat pain, and this guy here is like a banquet.”
"Of course. Do what you must." She bows, nodding. She sets up her tools and numerous alchemical items.
