KK also stands up, brushing some blades of grass off of their coat. "Alrighty. See ya." She says back, before walking off to somewhere else.
The two continue to converse with one another about nothing in particular, getting absorbed in their conversation to the point that Omori almost forgets about their broth.
Merabelle occasionally reminds them that they need to eat for their energy and for their strength. Other than that she simply listens in, wondering how her own familiar was doing, beginning to paint the two.
She does eat the rest of the meal over the course of her and Ambers' chatting, not immediately aware of Merabelle's painting.
*Sorry if this is being vague. I'm not super used to having conversations between my own characters.*

*No no no, I’ve gone through the same, it’s not often but I’ll have characters talking to each other like I did with Damian in court. It’s hard.*
Once she is finished with the painting, they turn the canvas around, a beautiful water color painting of them both having this very conversation “What do ya think?”
He chuckles as well. "Oh, how interesting. That sounds like quite the endeavor to take on alone. Is there any way I could help?"
Its attention now seems especially fixed on him, continuing to pace as it speaks. "Well, I already have a way of traveling to the Sun- and somewhat quickly, at that- but I don't have anything prepared for actually collecting an actual piece of the star rather than just its light. I can consume light, as you've likely inferred, but I'd need to get close- and given the Sun's gravity, that's not an option. If you could help me create a device to siphon the sun's raw essence... well, bottled sunlight would be a rather rare and valuable thing to sell."
"Very interesting. Could be used in fryers." He pulls out his book and pen and begins to think. "Hmmm... Moving light... faster than light... Now, mundane physics would cry 'impossible,' but necromancy, the manipulation of radiant energy, sunlight in this case, could be something pretty easy. There is of course Gourmomancy, my speciality, but we'd need to place the power into an organic structure beforehand. But that's still the problem, isn't it? That's our end goal. We can't just lower a cradle into the sun or whatever, the heat would... no, we could do something like that. Fireproof flesh or vegetation that can absorb that level of energy."
"He... is putting on a show at the moment. He hides behind masks and costumes when he's scared. It's a layer of separation. An imaginary protection from consequences, I guess. I don't quite understand him, but I've learned to accept his... eccentricities." He does a slow turn-around, arms raised. He's not armed, but he gives off the feeling that he is in total control. "My eccentricities, I think, are easier to grasp. I don't kill, for one. I prefer to scare people when shows of power are necessary. I like snakes, food, and fine ale, and have means to produce all three. The snakes are a bit harder, but I think you get my meaning. We both like people though. Community. Seeing those kids like that..." He lowers his arms. "It really is a shame."
“It was truly terrible to see people my age, younger, doing things like that, and I do regret permanently damaging that kid. Though it is for the best I’d say. You say you are like me, but something makes me doubt that. Either way, it doesn’t matter now.” He sheaths his jagged craggy short sword back up, before picking up the remains of the stone arm.
"Ah, a misunderstanding. I never meant that you and I were similar. I don't believe we have a single thing in common. That's not a reason to worry, though. How do you feel about a nice cheeseburger? Two? And a shake, perhaps?"

“It is the least I could do fer ya both. I want ta remember this moment, but I couldn’t copy the same beauty as it truly has fer a familiar and a mage ta talk fer the first time. When I had my first talk with my crocodile familiar Ragarn, we were mud wrestling.”
He chuckles as well. "Oh, how interesting. That sounds like quite the endeavor to take on alone. Is there any way I could help?"

A siphon of sorts that can vacuum all the radiant energy and concentrate it into some container? Or perhaps multiple containers... of course, that loops back to the initial issue of how to make something that can absorb the energy safely. Without it, the ship would just be... but how does one trap the raw force of the Sun?"

*if you knew what i've done, you'd disagree. love you too.*
"Sounds simpler than mine." he says, chuckling. "At least you have such skills to sustain yourself."
*Thats assuming I care what you’ve done.*
“I cannot credit it all to myself, my companion and friend has done as much hunting as I. When I was sick they would find food for both of us.”
*knowing you, you do.*
"Fascinating..." he says, smiling at the lioness, this time with perfect, pearly white teeth. "Now, are they a familiar? Or just a unique creature?"
*Looks like you don’t know me, love ya anyway.*
The lioness looks away again and he laughs “Less a familiar and more… a unique creature. They are not truly a being or this world, but they are my friend regardless.”
*If I told ya, you'd know i'm right. Love you too.*
He cocks his head, getting another look at the lioness. "Well, I assume it must be an honor to be friends with someone so unique. They must trust you quite a lot." He looks at their face, but his focus is somewhere else, nowhere currently in the present.
*Wont argue for the sake of our marriage*
He smiles wide, his canines unnaturally sharp for a regular human, but the way things are panning he certainly isn’t regular, maybe not even human anymore “It is an honor I wear with pride, and we have known each other long enough to earn that trust. Are you busy with something more important?”
*good human*
His attention is brought back, and his eyes dim for a moment. "No, no... I apolologize, my thoughts were pulled to the past..." he rubs the back of his head, chuckling sheepishly. "Might we find a resteraunt that would allow the presence of your friend?" he nods to the lioness.
“Don’t worry about it, memories are some of the most important things to any creature, days when things were better or worse, they must be cherished, because they motivate us more than anything else. I have been recommended one, but I am not one for many confined spaces, at least not anymore.” He points towards the Lord’s Rest Inn.
"Then I will go in and get food, then we may eat it outside." he offers.
“You’re going to buy us food? Fine, it’s stupid to deny a free meal from anyone.” He says, leading them in that direction, the lioness following beside Toothless.
"Ah, a misunderstanding. I never meant that you and I were similar. I don't believe we have a single thing in common. That's not a reason to worry, though. How do you feel about a nice cheeseburger? Two? And a shake, perhaps?"
“If you have anything for my companion, perhaps, otherwise I prefer to get food myself. I am a hunter you see, and in that aspect I take pride. The strength it takes to kill, to craft your own tools, and to grow farther and farther with each day.”
"Interesting. Very interesting. You take pride in stalking, killing, refining those two arts, and repeating the process, yet you still seem to have some moral code. More ethical than moral, but I digress. Forgive me if I'm wrong here, but from what I gather, you seem to believe that you are the only one here allowed to hurt intelligent beings for any reason. If I am wrong, which I don't exactly doubt, could you explain your philosophy?"

“I would say you are wrong, there is no animal that is evil, that much they said is true, but the opposite is also true by that logic. No animal is good by nature, as I said to them, I am animal, I hunt and kill like any, if I am hunted and killed, it is simply because I was too weak to stand. Every kill must be justified in my eyes, or any harm, they were harming you, so they were punished, preventing them from likely doing it again.”
He shrugs, the lioness matching the motion “Don’t know, I’ve spent a long time in the… Feywild I think is what it is was called. I wouldn’t know, but it’s worth a try I suppose. I may be able to pay with something.”

Darius takes the craggy greatsword off of his back, as well as a whetstone, beginning to sharpen it as he waits outside, his lioness resting next to him in the sunlight, smiling softly.
