Shambler stumbles back, gazing at Sunny with wonder in his eyeholes.
"I can't imagine what that feels like. We woodfolk live our lives tethered to the earth, drawing our strength from it. I take solace in the fact that no matter what happens, she's here for us. But to fly like that, away from your problems instead of facing them...I can't imagine how freeing that is."
He pauses for a moment, realizing that that's the most he's said in months. "What...what did you do to gain such freedom?"
"For years now, I've served Mishakal, Dol Arrah, Ilmater, and the like. But lucky me, because they took favor in me, and empowered me. I am a guardian of the night, which is when I am most powerful. My magic aids others, except when violence is unavoidable."
