'Exactly!' He yeets himself into the nearest drain, a grin stretched across his grimy face

Lil smiles after him, and yeets herself slightly more cautiously down the drain. "Where are we going today my gracious sewer guide?"
'To the best scavenging spots, where else, my wonderful sewer novice?' He slithers through the pipes, to where a huge pile of trash has built up

"Huh, sewer novice. I like it!" She follows him over, and Edgar hops excitedly off her shoulder to rummage through the pile. He might be a fussy bird but the temptation of shinies overpowers his dislike of grime.
'It's a good title. Soon, you'll be a fully-fledged sewer rat, like I am!'
She finds a couple of coins, some ragged clothes and boots, and a load of bones

She picks everything up, clearly very happy with her finds, but examines the bones in particular trying to see if they are human or animal.
They are mostly animal, but not all animal. 'A lot of dead get dumped down here. Maybe people can't afford to pay for funerals. I don't know, I just watch them drifting past.'
