'Yeah. It's not how I want to be, when I'm dead, that's for sure. I wanna be sealed in a watertight metal box, then dropped into the sewer. That way, my rodent buddies won't get to eat me, which is no way to treat a friend, but I know they would. Take whatever bones ya want, there's always a lot!'

'Oh hey Gold, what're ya doing down here?'

"I'll make sure to remember it! Although I hope you won't die anytime soon, I've only just got to know you."

Lil starts putting everything into her satchel, wiping the bones off on the clothes she found.

'I hope I don't die soon too! As a half-elf, my life should be a bit longer than the average human's, unless something else gets me first, which I hope it won't. Hey, those clothes look pretty nice!'

Flint is also rummaging through the pile, pulling out random junk items and stuffing them in a bag

"Well you'll probably last longer than me then. That's a relief, I don't particularly want to see any more friends leave before I do. And these are great clothes, I needed some more anyway! I couldn't tell you how long I've been wearing this shirt for."

'Ya don't wanna know how long I've been wearing any of my stuff for either. Or, where I got them from. Spoiler- trash heaps, and a dead body. This place's basically a necromancer's paradise, right!?'

"Oh I've got plenty of clothes from dead people, although usually not off their corpses. Customers would sometimes donate their loved one's things to us instead if they couldn't cover the money, which suited my parents just fine. This is definitely a paradise! No living people besides you, dark and cosy, and heaps of dead bodies!"

'Definitely! Taking clothes off dead, rotting bodies isn't most people's idea of fun, but it's free clothes, and the dead guy ain't complaining! And yeah, this place is great. Couldn't imagine what it must be like to grow up on the surface. I mean, here, ya can just kinda sit back, become one with the sewage. That's gross, isn't it?'

"Well, we would sometimes get the occasional one complaining when we undressed them for funeral prep, but that usually means they aren't as dead as you think. The surface isn't all bad, there are definitely some nice places out there. But I agree down here is much better."

'It is completely better down here! I mean, the surface has some good company, but that's about it. The sunlight, yuck! I mean, darkvision exists for a reason, right?'

He makes a makeshift sort of nest out of the rags

"Darkvision sounds great! Unfortunately I am but a mere human, so I probably couldn't survive down here as well as you do. Are you going to have a nap?", she says, looking towards his nest.

'Nah, it's just a nice place to sit' He curls up in the rag-nest, and plays a song on his lute. It is a song about a less-than-holy cleric he met on his travels

Lil sits down next to him, listening. Edgar bops his head a little in time to the music.

"I didn't know you were a musician! That was amazing!"

'Yeah, just kinda picked up how to play, Got perfect pitch, ya see. Different chords have different colours. C major is a very nice blue! Usually I play to entertain the rats, they seem to like it. Great acoustics down here, as well!'

"Oh I've heard about that! Synesthesia right? It's so interesting, sounds like a nice way to experience music. I wish I had some musical talent, but I could only ever play the kazoo. I think if I tried it now your rat friends might drop dead."

'Yeah, synaesthesia's what they call it! A particularly useless superpower, but one all the same, or so I like to think. What kind of songs d'ya like? Ash is big into thrash metal, so I have to put up with a lot of that!'

"Hey, it's not a useless superpower if it lets you play like that! I like most music I hear, can't say I've listened to a whole lot of trash metal though. Clem used to sing the nicest folk tunes to me."
