As he says that, a ball of ginger fluff springs out from the basket. More sounds come from inside, little mewls and the occasional hiss. "No! Stay in there you little gremlin, I don't want you to get lost!", Lil says, scooping the kitten back up. She flips back the cloth a little and shows Flint the writing mass of kittens, at least 8.
'Oh my goodness kittens! So cute!' He picks up a kitten and strokes it. 'How could anyone dump them down there? Being abandoned in the sewers as a baby is the worst, trust me'

"Yeah, they're adorable!" The kitten nuzzles into Flint's chest, licking his hand. "I guess someone was trying to get rid of them, and couldn't be bothered to sell them or give them away. It's awful, who wouldn't want these guys?"
'I know right! How could anything so cute end up somewhere so gross?' he jokes. 'Are you keeping them, are they club members, or what?'

"Well I was gonna ask you if you wanted any. I'm not sure if I could handle all of these guys. We could keep them in the Wolf and Rat maybe, and they can keep the mouse population under control for you?"
'The Wolf and Rat does not have a mouse problem. The only vermin there are me, Ash, and some of our most valued customers. And yes, I'd take a kitten or two, sure Ash would be okay with it! Kiara would love them!'

"Sorry, didn't mean to say you did. I guess I'm just used to the taverns back home, they were filthy, but the Wolf and Rat is so much nicer. Which ones do you want?"
'Nah, not a problem! They had better not hunt Hi though!' He picks up two kittens, a black-and-white one, and a tabby

"Oh yeah, I hadn't thought of that. You can probably train them not to though, seeing as they're so young. What are you gonna call them? Or will you leave that up to Ash and Kiara?" She gives them a pat, Edgar watching on disapprovingly from her shoulder.

Lil is just coming out of the noodle bar, and nearly bumps into Flint. "Flint! How's it going?" As she says this she bends down to give all the animals a pat.
'It's going well! Taking Lucas, Toast, Kenobi, and Hi out for their walkies! I mean, Hi goes everywhere with me, but still... How's it going?'
