"Great! Although we should probably go get our things from the tavern first." She walks back to the Wolf and Rat, and collects her small bag of belongings along with Ed and Arlo.

'Sounds like a plan!' he gets a load of his belongings, and sits down on a low wall whilst waiting for the horse to be summoned.

He is playing a rather funny song on his lute

Lil sits with her back against the wall, muttering something as she reads from her spellbook. She half listens to Flint's song, smiling. "Nice tune!"

'I know right!'

She laughs. "That's a very Flint song, but in the best kind of way." Slowly the translucent outline of a horse begins to appear beside them. "Here he comes!"

'Yes! Hey, nice horsey, don't kick Flint please!'

The now fully formed phantom steed snorts and gives Flint a playful nuzzle. Flint feels the cold nose of the horse press into, and then through him. "Ha, I think he likes you", Lil says.

'Funny, never really considered myself an animal person. I mean, I get on with the rats, but I think they consider me one of them rather than a separate species!' he laughs.

He climbs onto the saddle

"Well you're very kind. Maybe the animals can just sort of sense it." She puts their things in the saddle-bags and then climbs on in front of Flint, scooping Arlo up with her. "You ready?"

'Of course I'm ready! Let's go!'

Flint looks pretty excited

Lil grips the reins tight, still a bit nervous despite having done this before. "Cmon horse, this way please!", she says, directing the horse out of town. They take off at a gallop.

'Man, it's kinda nice out here! I mean, when was the last time I left town properly? I mean, there was mine and Ash's honeymoon at the local landfill, but this is..  like, there are trees and stuff!'

"Yeah! The city's great, and I love the sewers, but there really is something special about all the empty space out here." They pass by miles and miles of fields, dotted with a few barns and cottages. Eventually they reach a small village.

'Is this it? Your hometown? It's kinda ... pretty. Like, in a countryside kinda way.'

"Yup, this is it. Not a whole lot to look at. But I guess it is almost pretty, if you squint". She swings her legs over the side of the horse and jumps down, starting to unpack their gear from the saddlebags. Edgar seems to recognise one of the nearby buildings and flies over to it.

'Hey, come on, it's pretty compared to what I'm used to! Hey, is that where ya parents are?'

Flint follows Ed

"Ha, I guess. Although the sewers are pretty in their own way!"

She picks up the bags and follows them both, pausing on the doorstep. "Yeah, this is their place. And also the morgue. Very handy if you happen to drop dead".
