Meepo hears a quiet, hollow whistling sound drift over from across the street.
“What’s that?”
The haunting sound continues to drift by. You can tell it comes from an alleyway.
“Anyone there?”
You walk through the alley and come upon another busy market street. A glassblowers shop is set up on the other side of the road and for a brief second you see a humanoid form in the window. The whistling seems to be coming from there.
Meepo waves at them. “Hello!”
The figure disappears quickly and the whistling stops.

"It was, but they were fools to think that their cage could contain me." She shifts her bulk slightly as she talks.
'Yeah, they were. A lot of crooks are surprisingly dumb. Ya OK?'
"I'm as well as I'll ever be. And that wasn't the worst thing I've ever been through. Being born as a dragon makes you a magnet for hardship, but my scales are hard, my teeth are sharp, and my arms are strong. I know how to survive."
'I guess so, yeah. This town is good though. I mean, I never thought I'd ever settle down, but I've been living here for years now. Never been a reason to leave'
Plague Eater is setting up some targets on the outskirts of town.
Flint waves at him through a grate
Plague Eater waves back. "I ran afoul of that Cato fellow, unsurprisingly. Unfortunately, I haven't fought in almost a thousand years, being dead and all, so I need to practice. I would ask to spar with you, but you don't seem to be the type that has martial or arcane training and weaponry."

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.
May each word that I speak be backed by each of my teeth.

The dragon tilts her head in thought, "In that case, I might stay here awhile. I have been traveling for a long time and some rest would be good for these old bones."
Plague Eater is standing over a group of bloodied and unconscious assassins. They look high-caliber, but Plague Eater is barely scratched. He murmurs uncomfortably as shakes the blood off of his staff.

"They tried to kill me, mostly. I'm pondering whether it would be better to leave them alive and have them report to Cato empty handed or just kill them here. The latter option would probably be a mercy, given Cato's predisposition towards torturing people to death." He turns around casually.

"Is death really a mercy," rumbles the figure behind you. Two yellow eyes watch you from under a torn shawl. Large fangs gleam in the light, and an oversized, scaly arm pulls the robe closer over the hulking figure in an attempt to conceal its reptilian form. A thick tail lies curled around the creatures taloned feet.
"Why does this man want you dead? Do you deserve his death sentence?"

The oversized armored lizardfolk is interested.
"He wanted me to kill innocent people and eat them. I said no. Being an embodiment of evil, he didn't take that lightly. So now he wants me dead, I guess. And no, I guess death isn't really a mercy. I didn't exactly feel like I was given mercy the first time I was killed."
