'There's this voice in my head that tells me stuff. He's called the Third. He taught me the things the rats couldn't teach me. Like penguins. All I need to do is sit and listen. But he doesn't tell me everything, only the sort of stuff regular surface people would know. Does this make me some sort of madman?'

'Thought it would. I'm the sanest guy in the sewer, anyway. Not that many people go down there. But then again, that's half the appeal'

 "Peace and quite. Just gotta put up with the smell I guess."

'Trust me, you get used to it. How long's it been now, twenty something years? Now, it just smells like home. Depressing much?' He says this with a crooked grin on his face.

"This might be a sensitive thing to ask, but what happened to your parents?"

'I don't know what happened. All I know was there was conflict between humans and elves, and my parents got caught up in it. Maybe they were killed, maybe they were just separated from me. I can't remember much about it- I was only tiny. The rats basically raised me as one of their own. If it wasn't for the Third, I would literally just be a lanky, blond-haired rat. And don't say I still am one'

"How did you meet the third?" Latin is curious, as if he recognises something from what you just said.

'Oh, I didn't meet him. He was always there, somewhere inside my mind, I think. Maybe he's the voice of destiny, I don't know. I've heard them talk about similar things in some of the temples. Why d'ya ask?'

Whilst he is talking, Flint is still keeping an eye and ear out for anything unusual that might signify the break-in is near

'Curiosity killed the cat, they say. Not that I'm sure I agree.' Hi looks nervous. 'It's okay, Hi, there's no cat. No regular cat, no big fluffy psycho cat, no werecat. Just me and Latin. I'm your friend, and I think Latin is as well'. Flint looks up at Latin like 'are you?'

'Good. See, Hi, everyone here likes you. You're a popular guy.' Flint strokes Hi on the head, flicking his emo fringe. Nobody quite knows why Hi has an emo fringe except Hi himself.
