His conversation skills aren't the best, but he's only used to interacting with rodents.

 "It was raining as I came in." The boy smiles, as if at a private joke.

*You did the right thing bringing Flint in here, its hard for Yondor to always be here*

Flint shakes the hand of the mouse. He looks into his eyes like 'yay! fellow vermin!' He's like 'Hi, I'm Flint'. Hi looks confused. 'No, I mean Hi like hello, not Hi like you. Why have I never encountered this problem before. Do I not say hi to people enough these days?'

 "I will admit, that wasn't my first thought." The boy smiles and stands up, taking Hamilton in his arms. "How have you come across this place?"

'Wasn't your first thought? That's good to know. I just came in because it was bright outside. And I got to this place through a ... cave? It's pretty nice, huh? Lots of stock, lots of opportunity for a few copper pieces'

The man looks like hes laughing but no sound comes out of his mouth

'Are you okay? Are you crying? Did I say something? I don't recognise your emotion. Unless for some reason you think I've lied to you...?'

The man is still laughing. He then grabs one of the spheres at his belt and releases it. Its a purple cat/fox-like creature, its tail splits into 2 and it looks at Flint and its eyes glow pink. Then a man's voice in your head goes "I'm not crying, don't worry. I'm laughing which is what I do when I find something amusing"

He whispers to Hi 'do you want me to still use the word hi in conversation. I know it's your name, and I don't want to dilute your brand. It's just, hello sounds sorta like 'Hell? Oh' Maybe it'll grow on me'

The boy just stands there, pretty confused at what is going on.

'Amusing? What have I done to amuse? Assuming it is me? I'm not a comedy bard. I do know a few jokes though, but ones that even the rats roll their eyes at'

'Wait did you just telepathy me? There's only one voice in my head other than mine, and that's the Great Third Voice'

A voice in your head goes "Yes. My espeon here helps me communicate" and he gestures to the fox

'That thing is... cool. What is it, a Pocket Monster?'

 Hamilton jumps out of the boys arms and attempts to grab the espeon, a playful look on his face.

Hi looks on at the overenthusiasm of Hamilton with mild disdain. Really, he doesn't mind, but he wants to appear as edgy

Hi likes to imagine himself as edgy. He reckons he's cooler than Flint, and to be honest he's probably right. At least rats are supposed to live in sewers, whereas half-elves, not so much
