"No, no one told me there was a spa. What would I do without you, oh most helpful of guides?"

She gazes around her in awe, admiring the architecture of the building.

'I don't know, walk in circles? It is a pretty place, but it costs a bit of a fortune. Then again, their treatments are good. Not that I'm a massive spa guy. Closest I usually get is my hot tub back at home'

"Very true. Honestly I'm not much of a spa person myself, too many awkward silences and personal conversations with strangers. But I'll be sure to keep it in mind if I'm ever in need."

'I guess so. Sorta can be awkward. Especially when they have to break out the extra-strong stuff because you've spent 20 years in a sewer and the regular stuff just won't make ya smell or look anything slightly nice!'

"Or when they ask what the grime under your fingernails is, and run away when you tell them it's bits of dead people"

'Oh yeah. Some people are so prissy, right!'

"Exactly! You should have seen their faces when I told them what dust is made of"

'What do ya do as a living?'

"Well, not a whole lot at the moment. My parents want me to take over from them one day, and don't me wrong, I love the whole undertaker thing. But I just feel like I could do more to help people pass over a little easier...especially after Clem... A while back a necromancer came to town and showed off a few tricks, and I was fascinated. I pretty much bullied him into teaching me a thing or two about necromancy, and now I'm sorta just moving from town to town, trying to learn even more. I'll go back home eventually and use what I've learned to help out my parents with the business."

'Sounds like a solid career path. I can see ya as an undertaker. Not a job for everyone, but then again, normal is boring. Hey, ya been to the Noodle Bar?'

"I've never done normal very well anyway. And no, but I love noodles!" 

You hear a mildly upset caw from Edgar.

"Don't worry Ed, we'll get you some noodles too"

'Normal is for people who cannot see the benefits of anything different. It's good not to blindly conform, that's the only way ya can truly be yourself.' He looks troubled for a moment

'Now let's go get NOODLES!!!' He races off down the street

"Precisely." Lil notices his troubled look, but doesn't ask. She's not particularly good with feelings.

"Hell yeah!" She sprints after him, running surprisingly fast despite her clear lack of physical skill.

Here it is! The Noodle Bar'

It is a small, quiet, unassuming building with a few tables out the front. A warm glow comes from within

Flint sits down at a table

"It looks wonderful! And smells even more wonderful!" 

As she says this Ed gives the air a sniff, and nods approvingly. They both sit down next to Flint. 

"What would you recommend?"

'I'd recommend the mushroom noodles, but the spicy ones are popular! The great thing is about this place, they pretty much have every flavour, just ask, and they'll probably have it. That's why there's no menus'

Hi scuttles off and pulls a bunch of noodles out of the trash, then brings them back for himself to eat. Flint does not buy noodles for Hi as he knows Hi doesn't care any more for them if they're fresh and warm or not

"Ooh I love mushrooms. They're kinda like you, they thrive in the dark and the damp, and people don't appreciate them nearly enough. Although I'm not sure you'd taste so good in a bowl of noodles."

Edgar eyes Hi's noodles with a look of distaste.

'Thanks, I guess! I've never heard that, but I'll take it as a compliment. After all, I'm a guy who'd take being compared to a rat as a compliment. Tough, resourceful, resilient, able to thrive in pretty much any environment, how is that an insult?'

Hi looks at Edgar like 'you want some noodles?'

"Now that you say it, rats really are amazing. Maybe we should all aspire to be a little more like them."

Edgar looks back at Hi with a high and mighty air, like 'I'm far too civilised for bin noodles, thank you very much'

'We totally should. But maybe ya more like a raven. Both are good animals, yet vastly under appreciated. Aww, I see Edgar and Hi are getting on!'
