Edgar glares at Lil as hard as it's possible for a raven to glare.

'They are so sweet together! Hard to think anyone could see them as vermin!'

He scoops up Hi and strokes him

"I guess not everyone really takes the chance to get to know them like we do. How did you meet Hi anyway?"

Lil stretches out a hand to pat Edgar's head and he turns away sulkily, limboing out of her reach.

'I was given him by the Father of Monsters, back when I was a kid and he was a baby. He was so adowwable!'

'Aww, I think Edgar's fallen out with ya!'

*This is on The Evening A Tavern, where I am playing Flint as a child. It's quite chaotic*

"Father of monsters? Sounds like a great guy. It's nice you've had Hi around for so long, and I agree, he's completely adorable"

"Don't mind Ed, he just gets jealous if I give anyone else too much attention."

'Aww, yeah, Hi used to get jealous too when I first started interacting with people. But it's great we've been together so long, yeah! Don't know what I'd do without him.'

"Same with me and Edgar, he keeps me company much better than most people do"

*I'm pretty busy with school atm so I probably shouldn't join more taverns than I can keep up with, but I am tempted*

'People are overrated. It's nice there are so many good ones in this town. This place is great, very welcoming. Anywhere else, I wouldn't have dreamed of coming to the surface, interacting with normal people. Would have gotten something chucked at me or my butt kicked'

"This does seem like a much nicer town than most I've visited. No one's tried to burn me at the stake for practicing necromancy yet, so that's a big plus. Might even stay here for a bit longer than I usually do."

'Yeah, I recommend it. I mean, when I first got here, I planned to stick around until I got kicked out, and I'm still here! I don't think necromancy's banned here, and it's not like there's much in the way of law enforcement anyway for stuff like that. There's a church, but it doesn't focus on preaching the evils of animating the dead or try to organise witch hunts or anything like that'

"Wonderful, I'm all for churches that don't organise witch hunts, and I've never really seen the point in law enforcement anyway. I'll probably have to find a job of some sort though. Dead bodies don't come cheap if you source them ethically, and I'll need people to practice on if I want to get any better"

'Yeah, the local church is pretty nice actually. Peaceful. What d'ya mean by ethically?'

"Well, if you're not careful you can end up being supplied with people who have been killed explicitly for the purpose of being sold. I'd hate to think anyone's life was cut short just so I can practice necromancy. They'd probably tell me that themselves when I woke them up."

'Yeah, ya don't want to be supplying that sort of thing. Sometimes ya find bodies that have just been dumped though, what's ya moral stance on using them?'

"Usually I'll try contacting their family first, if they have one. I wouldn't want to go against anyone's beliefs, even if I don't agree with them, and some people are pretty strongly against necromancy."

'Ya got a fair point there. Ya a pretty good person, ya know. Ethics around the dead are my biggest weakness.'

"Thank you. I try my best to respect people, and it's a lot easier to respect the dead than the living."

'It is? I guess there are those clerics and such, usually clerics, who forbid grave-robbing and necromancy out of respect for the dead, but are willing to condone all sorts of things that harm the living. I try to keep the living as my priority'

"Oh I don't mean in terms of harm, I don't want anyone to get hurt. It's just that living people can get on my nerves sometimes, and I have a hard time being polite when people go out of their way to be awful to others."

'Oh, ya right there! Living people can be a pain. Why I had a skeleton friend. Animals can also be good friends, what could be better than a horde of friendly vermin? They certainly kept me sane through my childhood'
