Skippy seems to like Hi. He beeps in friendship

Hi sort of squeaks in friendship. Flint is happy that they are getting on. Often, Hi does not get such a warm reception, more like 'is he a plague rat or something? Yuck!'

"While I'm here. Do yer need anythin' built, repaired, or improved? Maybe a magical trinket. Or a bodyguard."

'Not at the moment, but I sure might. If I find anything nice but broken in the trash chute, I'll be sure to show it ya!'

"Nothin' fer ye Dexen. A trinket for a certain fair lady perhaps."

'Ya know I'd like that!' He stops. 'Can you do engraving?'

"Of course, and I can make it magical. Maybe give yer an edge when talkin' to 'er."

'Oh, no, not for her' he explains. 'I want it to say 'To my darling Nari, forever in my heart'. And I won't need magic. I want her feelings towards me to be on her own terms. To win her respect and love fairly, as did knights of old. Flint rolls his eyes. 'Dexen has a crush on his old partner in crime'

"Ah, I see. Well I'll have it to yer in about a day or so."

'Brilliant! I can't wait to show her. She'll finally know how much I care for her, and how I've grown as a person.'

Flint whispers 'she dumped him as, in her line of work as a master thief, she didn't want any emotional connections that could be used against her'

"Master thief eh. Have fun with that." Ned says with a smirk. 

'Hey!' says Dex 'I'm a master thief too! We were partners in crime!'

'Nari was carrying him the whole way. She was the master thief'

Ned comes back the next day with a gold locket with a picture of Dexen's face in it, smiling sincerely. On the front it says "To my darling Nari, Forever in my heart." The engraving is very fine and the whole locket seems to have a magical arua. 

Dexen is very pleased. Flint wonders how much it is worth. 

'Nari's going to love it! And then hopefully after, love me!' Dex exclaims

"I enchanted it with stealth. As long as she wears it her foot will be light as air and her touch as soft as a cloud."

'She'll love it! Not that she needs stealth, but she could always do with a stealth boost! It's the best gift ever!'

"That'll be 20 Gold Pieces then."

Dex gives him the gold. Flint's eyes bulge at the sight of all that gold.

"Pleasure doin' buisness with ye."

'Indeed, it is a pleasure. You won't tell Nari about what I said about the other girl's eyes, will you?'
