Thalia and Melpomene are giving monologues to each other.
There’s a projection of Nedari watching politely.
A hazy mirage of Kila sits there as well, clapping.

Nedari takes the ring and the headdress silently. They slip the ring onto their primary left ring finger, as far as Kila can tell through the mirage. Nedari smiles at the headdress in their hands. “I’ll save this for special occasions.. it’s too nice to wear all the time.” They pull Kila into a hug, careful to keep the headdress outside the embrace and undamaged.
Kila’s little tail wags excitedly and he hugs them back. “What kind of special occassions? Maybe we could.. hold a festival together?” Kila gently squeezes them a bit more and concentrates as hard as possible to condense the light of the mirage to make them more solid.
It works, somewhat. Nedari’s features are definitely more defined and solid. “A festival sounds wonderful.. what were you thinking of?”
“Mm.. the dog days are coming. We should prepare a celebration.” Kila looks intrigued now by the change and starts just trying to squish as close as possible to them.
Nedari leans against Kila’s shoulder. “The dog days? What are the dog days?”
Lark flits over to the tree as bird, shapechanging back into human form once he reaches a branch. Today there are two small horns just visible in his mop of unruly hair. He picks one of the purple fruits and gives it a sniff, before taking a large bite.
He’s immediately hit by a rush of sensations, conflicting sounds and smells and sights resolving into a still image of his locusts razing Koszamar’s old hops fields. Then, all of a sudden, the sensation ends, and he’s falling from the branch toward the floor.
He lets out a yell, too confused and stunned to react. Before he can transform back into a bird he has hit the ground, and lies there completely still for a moment. Eventually he gets to his feet and brushes the dirt off his knees. "What happened?"
Nedari rushes down the tree, offering a hand to Lark to help him up. “I should have warned you.. I’m sorry. The fruit.. it causes visions.”
Lark gives Nedari's outstretched hand a hi-five. "It's ok! That was a good trick, and I can appreciate those. Besides, it was very tasty, and tasty things are usually worth any trouble they cause."
Nedari looks relieved. “That’s.. good. If you have any other side effects.. see me about it. I’ll be able to fix it.”
"Thank you. You're really nice, you know that?" Lark pulls them into a hug, his small arms squeezing surprisingly tight.

“I.. thank you.” Nedari awkwardly hugs Lark with his primary arms, then uses his secondaries to pull Lark and themself back into the tree. “Are you.. alright?”
“Any time.. try not to eat the fruit, so high above the ground, please? For me?” Nedari grunts and pulls Kila back onto the branch.
Kila makes an undignified squeaking sound and hops back onto the branch, plopping himself into Nedari’s lap. “Fine… or you could just hold onto me better..”

Nedari leans against Kila’s shoulder. “The dog days? What are the dog days?”
“The hottest days of the year.” He smiles. “Our days of festival. When the sun reaches its peak and the dogs dance across the sky in the stars.” Kila gently intertwines his fingers with one of Nedari’s hands, a bit small in comparison.

He nods. “I won’t fall. Promise.” Kila smiles. “You’re so worried about me.” He adds teasingly.

“Mm… I don’t know. I was going to distrubute gifts.. maybe I can make it into a gift exchanging holiday? We celebrate our place in the earth, the life we were given and the sun that warms us. The stars that guide us through the darkness and the fires that keep our houses warm.” Kila smiles. “There’s definitely gonna be dancing. You might want to practice.”

“For a few weeks.. I’m sure it’ll be fine. Teach them to leave the smallest possible impact. Remind themselves of their responsibility as well as their privilege.”
