She considered. "You wouldn't happen to have jasmine?" She asked as she turned her attention to the near-empty upper floor. "I suppose the rowdy lot are in the basement today? Or are you just guestless?"

 "Its normally quiet at this point. But maybe it will liven up later." He brings over the Jasmine tea, a lot less scared then Juliet was.

"By the gods, I hope not."  She mumbled as she took the tea in both hands in the eastern style, as she drank it.

Carl bows, laughing slightly. "For you sake, I hope it doesn't get too busy. And I hope the tea is good too."

She watched him with scalding eyes before regarding the tea once more. "The tea suffices."  She said. "Better than I expected from peasent water." 

A slight smile remains on his face. "I'm glad I could be of service."

She looked back to the waitress Juliet, who was clearly avoiding her. "Do you whip her?" She asked Carl. 

His smile slowly turns to a frown. "...Whip her?"

" I haven't seen a maid that nervous since I visited the Efreeti."  She said. "They whip waitresses that work too slowly."

 "I'd never dream of hurting Juliet, she's a hard worker, and a friend of mine." He looks over at her, she's seeing to a few other customers a few tables away. "I think you just scare her a bit, she doesn't like to make mistakes."

"I don't like people making mistakes when serving me. So that should work out." She said as she shrugged. "I do not see a need for the girl to be so afraid. She is competent enough for a commoner." 

"I feel the same. She just seems uncomfortable around you for some reason. She won't really talk about it with me, and I don't like to push her to tell me these things either."

Liyong shrugged. "Oh well. I'll be in my room to do some reading, drop my clothes off there when it's done." She then left the tavern to the inn part.

A pale, skinny and overdressed human walks in (aboveground), in all black. They seem to radiate an aura of darkness, they themselves always seem to be in shadow even when no one else is. They walk up to the counter at the cafe and order an espresso.
