Sorry. My dad was outside and I think he mistook me for an intruder. He hates intruders. No sooner did he say "I'M WARNING YOU!" when he threw one of his sleek assassin's knives at me. *She traces the long thin scar snaking diagonally across her nose* He thought the intruder was dead, so he left. I managed to put some distance between me and the house and bandage myself. Later, while I was still camping in Neverwinter Wood, I heard a twig snapping behind me. It was a mist-wolf. It approached me and pinned me down, and I felt another thing snap under the weight of the snarling beast. Was that my arm? At that moment, staring at the beast, I did something I never wanted to do. I controlled it. It walked away and disappeared into the bushes. I felt sick after I used my powers. Kind of like my family.

The lights in the downstairs of the tavern start to flicker. One by one they all shut off until only the elevator is still lit up. The elevator begins to shake as an orange symbol flashes on the doors for a moment. The elevator dings and opens up, revealing another door made out of wood. Black tendrils come out from around the door, snaking along the walls and the floor. The door opens and a man comes out. In one of his hands is a briefcase and in the other a small black container. The container's top is open and a red gem hovers within it. As the man closes the top of the container, the door disappears along with the tendrils and the lights return to normal.
The man himself is wearing a cloak that obscures his face and most of his body and a small shovel pendant hangs on his neck. Placing the briefcase down on a table, the man opens it up and places the container inside before closing it back up. Ignoring the stares from the people around him, he walks over to the desk to get a room.
“What’s in the container?” Kayla (a young gnome woman with long brown hair and lots of jewelry) asks. She’s curious about this man and decided to just ask him.
