The sounds of an old radio playing equally old music can be heard in the forest. (boss encounter, if anyone's interested in fighting a very deadly monster.)
Jack tilts his head and follows it outside, confused.
As he follows the music, he sees headless bodies of heavily armed adventurers along the way, many of which are wearing strange gear and symbols not from this plane of existence.
"Head Hunter maybe?" mutters the Wampahoofus has he follows the music through the woods.
He hears a scream cut short nearby. A headless body is thrown against a nearby tree, hitting it with a wet splat.
"Nuts," he mutters. He draws his revolver and pulls out a dagger from his sheath in his other hand. "Those pants ain't gonna do anything to this." He looks to see what threw the body.

*JACK HAS TRAINED FOR THIS!!!!!*
Jack stares in wonder before pulling out his spellbook and flipping through it to try and figure the symbols origins. (Investigation: 32)
They come from an obscure, purgatory-like plane known as the Nightmare, which was collapsing recently due to the death of the Titans who ruled it. It is kept going by the psyches of some of the most horrible people in the world, but the loss of the Titans makes it impossible for a creature to ascend once it repents, so most of the time creatures are stuck there, unable to die of anything except old age without coming back. The creature that caused this was likely some sort of tormentor from that plane, hunting down escapees, although there are some bodies that don't seem to be from the Nightmare, yet they are still heavily armored and armed.
He tilts his head and looks up, watching them walk. He sighs and pulls out his staff just in case and follows along with them.

*Watching what walk? They're a bunch of corpses.*
*Yes, watching the corpses' walk, seeing if any go a certain way.*
*Yes, watching the corpses' walk, seeing if any go a certain way.*
*No, they're like, dead corpses. Very dead. Not animated at all.*
*skipabopdoopdarn*
Jack is going to search around then, looking around for anything of intrest.
He sees what Wampahoofus sees: a dead body being thrown against a tree.
Jack almost jumps straight in the air as the body hits the tree, yelping a bit. He casts True Seeing on himself to try and find the thing that threw the body.

Just out of view, something stands. His true seeing seems unnecessary, but the creature disappears almost the instant he sees it.
The radio music now emanates from right behind him. (technically it's the monster's turn, per the rules of the encounter, but Jack can do something real quick, like speak)

Jack throws his arms up and speaks "I wish to parlay before you hurt me!"
"You're not doing it so I might as well go and stop whatever it is." She smiles again and stretches.
(How close is it from him?) He covers his mouth and watches it.

He whispers quiet words in a language unknown as he takes off the blindfold from his eyes and stares at the Zombie. (It needs to make a Wis Save)
