The 2 Story Tavern

"If its what I think it is then there wont be a commander much longer. or many of us left for that matter."

As everyone continues walking something lunges out and grabs one of the soldiers near the sides and drags him into the dark screaming. A few more shapes start to lunge out of the darkness. The commander then shouts, "CONTACT ALL AROUND! OPEN FIRE!" There is then the sound of gunfire all around.

The group of soldiers are preparing a small tank.

 Jack is about to go over to Phoenix before he catches glimpse of the tank. He steps outside and watches the soldiers from afar before walking up to one. "What are you doing?"

Lore is carrying a small bundle in her arms as she runs through the forest. She turns into a wolf and runs into the tavern, carrying the bundle in her teeth.

"Back up civilian! Private operations!" the man says

Theren is now on the porch and raises his eyebrows at the wolf

 Jack pulls out his spell book and flips a page. He begins to utter an incantation. *Make a Wis Save*

Lore transforms back and stares up at him. Her left side is bleeding, the shaft of an arrow still piercing through slightly. She hands him the bundle. "Hide this. Quickly! Don't let anybody who comes to this tavern have it!"

Theren takes it. "L-lore..whats going on." he quickly casts heal on her. (gain 100 hp)

Lore pulls the shaft out of herself with a wince and looks at the forest. "Just do that. Hide it in my room it you have too!" She back into the forest, summoning a sickle in her hand. The bundle begins to squirm a bit as a soft cry is voiced from the bundle.

"Lore! What in the 9 hells is going on!" he grabs her shoulder with this free hand. When he hears the cry he freezes. "Oh gods..."

 "THAT." She opens the bundle a bit, moving aside folds of cloth to reveal a small, eyeless Elfen baby with pretty red eyes. "Is what I stole. This child was going to be sacrificed to DEVILS Theren... DEVILS!"

 Theren face sets into a grimace. "Ok ok. Come on. Inside. Now." he says. "You are NOT going to fight whatever is out there. Understood?"

 The solider suddenly falls unconscious as Jack picks him up and casts greater invisibility on himself and the solider.

"I have to.. there just going to take more children and hurt them." Lore looks to be on the verge of tears.

 "Johnson?!" one soldier yells walking over. "Oh crap...Ay boys, Johnsons gone!"

"You cant save everyone Lore...."

 Jack walks back inside with the unconscious body and dismisses his invisibility. He walks over to Phoenix. "Do you know the guys outside or are they outside your former squadron?" He sets down the unconscious body in a chair.

"I have to try! I can't let them end like me!" She pulls away and runs back into the forest.

 "Huh. Nah. Never seen them before."

"LORE!" He shouts. He then curses and walks to his room still carrying the bundle.

"Screw it." I throw my gun back into the hole and rip open my Demiplane.

 Jack walks back inside with the unconscious body and dismisses his invisibility. He walks over to Phoenix. "Do you know the guys outside or are they outside your former squadron?" He sets down the unconscious body in a chair.

"I have to try! I can't let them end like me!" She pulls away and runs back into the forest.

 "Huh. Nah. Never seen them before."

"LORE!" He shouts. He then curses and walks to his room still carrying the bundle.

 "What should I do with him?" He asked "I was going to follow them but now I feel like I should just strip him of his stuff and pretend to be him to find out." He smiles.

The child coo's gently, staring at Theren while little hand reach up to him.

 Phoenix taps the crest on the mans shirt. "Wait wait...oh hell....I know whats going on..."

"Hi there little one." he says, giving the child his finger.

*Pm?*

 "Hm?" Jack looks up and tilts his head.

The child smiles, making a babbling noise as it gently takes Theren's finger. There is appears to be a name that is grotesquely stitches on the child's arm. "Lucy Webster"

 "We want no part of this. No part at all. Do you understand me Jackson?"

"Is your name Lucy?"

 Jack narrows his eyes "You know I don't like it when you keep secrets. Who are these guys." He asked.

The child makes a noise and plays with his finger happily.

 "We. Want. No. Part. Of. It."

"its gonna be ok kiddo." he says, rocking her slightly

Lore is carrying a small bundle in her arms as she runs through the forest. She turns into a wolf and runs into the tavern, carrying the bundle in her teeth.

"Back up civilian! Private operations!" the man says

Theren is now on the porch and raises his eyebrows at the wolf

 Jack pulls out his spell book and flips a page. He begins to utter an incantation. *Make a Wis Save*

Lore transforms back and stares up at him. Her left side is bleeding, the shaft of an arrow still piercing through slightly. She hands him the bundle. "Hide this. Quickly! Don't let anybody who comes to this tavern have it!"

Theren takes it. "L-lore..whats going on." he quickly casts heal on her. (gain 100 hp)

Lore pulls the shaft out of herself with a wince and looks at the forest. "Just do that. Hide it in my room it you have too!" She back into the forest, summoning a sickle in her hand. The bundle begins to squirm a bit as a soft cry is voiced from the bundle.

"Lore! What in the 9 hells is going on!" he grabs her shoulder with this free hand. When he hears the cry he freezes. "Oh gods..."

 "THAT." She opens the bundle a bit, moving aside folds of cloth to reveal a small, eyeless Elfen baby with pretty red eyes. "Is what I stole. This child was going to be sacrificed to DEVILS Theren... DEVILS!"

 Theren face sets into a grimace. "Ok ok. Come on. Inside. Now." he says. "You are NOT going to fight whatever is out there. Understood?"

 The solider suddenly falls unconscious as Jack picks him up and casts greater invisibility on himself and the solider.

"I have to.. there just going to take more children and hurt them." Lore looks to be on the verge of tears.

 "Johnson?!" one soldier yells walking over. "Oh crap...Ay boys, Johnsons gone!"

"You cant save everyone Lore...."
