*Ah, I was imagining only like 7 or 8 feet. Sorry, I haven't been here for a while.*
*In that case...*
The man walks out and places his hands on his hips. He raps his knuckles against the talon, seemingly unafraid.
It bends, its point facing him like some living creature. A cloudy light burns deep within it, flashing a million colors in a single second.
He takes a step back apologetically and bows. He gestures toward the house, apparently... inviting the talon inside?
It doesn’t move or react. It seems to be a plantlike thing, only responding to the physical stimuli, with no conscious thought.
The humanoid thing tilts his head and heads inside. He brings out two glasses of iced lemonade and stands on tip-toe, offering one to the plant.
*i’m just now realizing that Talons are basically the exact same thing as crystal vines from Light of Xaryxis. Plantlike mineral formations that exist to destroy the very universe*
It dips slightly into the chalice and absorbs all present fluid.
*This guy isn't exactly from this universe, so he's probably chill. Think of him as coming from the shadowfell equivalent.*
The man seems satisfied and sits in the shade granted by the Talon, sipping his own lemonade.

“Not so fast. I have one last question: what do you stand to gain from this arrangement?”
the control of a city, of course. The largest city in the known world.
“Hm. Fair enough. I suppose I’ll accept your offer, then.”
wonderful.
It slithers back to the pile of bones and Arsendir reconstitutes itself.
“So, what resources can you provide for the endeavor?”
spies. Spies everywwhere. And also, an army. An army right here, right now.
“I have spies and an army as well. Purebloods in the shadows and malisons in the streets. What is the nature of your army?”
About one fiftieth of the civilians in this city actually work for me. I’ve granted them magics and blessings in exchange for service. But they do not know that I am the one who gave them those powers. In addition, the crows that have been flocking around the world, those giant ones? They are my eyes and ears.
“Ahhh.” She grins wickedly. “We shall have to work out a way for your agents to signal to my soldiers of their true nature, such that they are not sent to the Fount.”
Hm… perhaps a code word? I could send them a message so it could change every day to prevent them from being found out and copied.
“A shibboleth! How delightful! I can tell we’ll do well together already.”
Now… a few more things. Your soldiers as well as mine will need to move quickly throughout the city… so how about an underground system to allow them to move more swiftly? Free from obstacles. And secondly, are we entirely getting rid of the elders, or should we recruit new ones on our side, figureheads for our cause?
“l feel like tunnels are a bad idea. I already created a river around the city, so why not make canals? I can control their flow to guide our forces. As for the elders, I’ve elected to let them live so as to keep up the illusion that this is what Cog wanted and they merely resigned to allow me to act quickly and without any red tape, but they are being constantly spied upon by my purebloods. Perhaps a bit later we could implement figureheads.”
