In a little village up in the north, disaster has been striking non stop. Attacks from the gravediggers, fire giants, roving bandits, and who knows what else. But someone decided to take charge, to help defend their village. A small farm girl, by the name of Sophia Madelle, has just given a speech to her fellow villagers that they need to something with this. By some miracle, they listen to her. She oversees the construction of a wall and trenches around the village, the production of weapons, and the use of the nearby branch of the river Herionidus in their defense, despite the fact it is little more than a stream. The most surprising part is that despite the fact she is at most 15, she acts as if she’s done this a thousand times before.

Occasionally, at the edge of the town shadowed by the cover of night, ghostly shades can be seen observing the town by some of the more observant folks. Come morning, those shades are gone, with no trace of anything strange save for the appearance of bushes with black roses in full bloom despite the icy child of the winter season.

"Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for thou art crunchy and taste good with ketchup."
Far away in the east, atop a mountain with a large waterfall running out and down into a river that flows west, a forest lies, undisturbed, and lush with life. Suddenly, the mountain begins to shake, and the water from the waterfall stops, as if held back inside the mountain. A large cloud begins to loom over the mountain, shrouding it in stormy clouds, and obscuring the top of the mountain. Lightning flashes, and thunder rolls down the empty hills beyond. However, the storm begins to fade as quickly and suddenly as it began, and the waterfall resumes its flow from the mountain. Now rising from the center of the drenched forest, a huge castle rises above the canopy. The castle has an Asian look to it, and its highest tower touches the clouds above.
Within the castle, in the throne room, a large throne sits, ornately decorated with gold and red steel. Kneeling before the great throne, a large man covered in the heaviest of armor, half of it as black as onyx, the other blood red. Looking like a metal humanoid, the face of the man is covered with a similarly half black half red helmet, with a visor that also covers the eyes. Upon his back, adding to the bulk, a huge black shield with a red rose insignia is strapped to him. Another shield he carries, scarlet red, and a black rose covers its face, and his head rests against this sheild. Still as a statue the man stands, as if he is frozen in time.

Some of the more observant villagers notice strange behaviors in the plants outside their town. Wherever blood or ichor or other such life essences are spilled from the marauders, the plants seem to grow at an accelerated rate, and some of the plants bear amber thorns dripping with golden toxins that normally don't grow thorns at all.

Sophia, who has set up headquarters in her family’s barn, is pacing around the outskirts of the village in the early morning, reviewing the most recent progress on the wall. She stumbles upon a rose bush, stopping for a moment, tilting her head. “A black rose…” quietly, she picks a rose head, smelling it.

*toxins, you say?*
after someone pricks themselves on the thorns, Sophia is alerted to the problem. She goes herself to witness it, staying just a few feet back. If the person pricked experiences any affects from poisons, Sophia is alerted.

It looks pristine at first glance, but as she picks it up she senses that it isn't a normal rose. The petals almost seem to shift a bit like there were made of shadowy smoke. The scent is different from a regular rose, yet faintly familiar to her. The power emanating from it feels more...divine.

The man senses something. Familiar, yet different at the same time. In the far north is the distinct feeling, the sense, albeit only a hint divine and much, much weaker, of the conscience of the white rose. He doesn’t know where in particular, and he isn’t completely sure if it’s Her, but he can feel it.

This event happens not to long before a solar eclipse that (with everyones approval) covers the world as far as the battle that happens far away, as if the world knows the great magnitude of the event. As the eclipse begins, when it is near complete, the land becomes spotted with the half sun, half moon, and the world itself is covered in a scarlet light.
*Again, if this okay with all of you*

as he suddenly appears and wanders into town, he is quickly spotted by five or so guards, all with various unconventional weapons, such as hatchets, sickles, et cetera. Although a few had more conventional ones, swords and bows, which seemed new. A few draw said bows, aiming for him, and demanding to know who he is. One runs off to find Sophia.

Also I have a fun thread that explores an idea about dreams based off the movie Inception. I still need to add the link but stay tuned.

She smiles a bit, full of wonder despite the chaos she’s had to protect her village from. “Now… what could this possibly be?” She says, examining the rose, wandering around the village, through alleys and the outskirts of farms.

Elsewhere, while wandering the world during the chaos of the war against the Frenzy, Asada is stirred from his thoughts by the sudden feeling of something faintly familiar. His gaze falls to the north as he takes in this new presence he feels. "Hm...interesting..." he says to himself as he suddenly vanishes, appearing on the outskirts of a small town. His form shifts, changing into an unassuming young human man with wild black hair and golden eyes wearing simple travelers clothes. "Lets see what this could be..."

*i’m assuming the small town he appears in is in fact Sophia’s village*
as he suddenly appears and wanders into town, he is quickly spotted by five or so guards, all with various unconventional weapons, such as hatchets, sickles, et cetera. Although a few had more conventional ones, swords and bows, which seemed new. A few draw said bows, aiming for him, and demanding to know who he is. One runs off to find Sophia.
*Assuming the eclipse is allowed*
As Asada teleports, the world is clothed in a midday nighttime darkness, and remains so for the next 10 minutes.

*Yep*
The man raises his hand with worry and alarm, despite being completely calm on the inside. He doesn't appear to be wearing any armor, nor does he seem to have any weapons on him. "I-I mean no harm, I'm just traveling through..."
