In a little village up in the north, disaster has been striking non stop. Attacks from the gravediggers, fire giants, roving bandits, and who knows what else. But someone decided to take charge, to help defend their village. A small farm girl, by the name of Sophia Madelle, has just given a speech to her fellow villagers that they need to something with this. By some miracle, they listen to her. She oversees the construction of a wall and trenches around the village, the production of weapons, and the use of the nearby branch of the river Herionidus in their defense, despite the fact it is little more than a stream. The most surprising part is that despite the fact she is at most 15, she acts as if she’s done this a thousand times before.
Occasionally, at the edge of the town shadowed by the cover of night, ghostly shades can be seen observing the town by some of the more observant folks. Come morning, those shades are gone, with no trace of anything strange save for the appearance of bushes with black roses in full bloom despite the icy child of the winter season.
Sophia, who has set up headquarters in her family’s barn, is pacing around the outskirts of the village in the early morning, reviewing the most recent progress on the wall. She stumbles upon a rose bush, stopping for a moment, tilting her head. “A black rose…” quietly, she picks a rose head, smelling it.
It looks pristine at first glance, but as she picks it up she senses that it isn't a normal rose. The petals almost seem to shift a bit like there were made of shadowy smoke. The scent is different from a regular rose, yet faintly familiar to her. The power emanating from it feels more...divine.
She smiles a bit, full of wonder despite the chaos she’s had to protect her village from. “Now… what could this possibly be?” She says, examining the rose, wandering around the village, through alleys and the outskirts of farms.
Elsewhere, while wandering the world during the chaos of the war against the Frenzy, Asada is stirred from his thoughts by the sudden feeling of something faintly familiar. His gaze falls to the north as he takes in this new presence he feels. "Hm...interesting..." he says to himself as he suddenly vanishes, appearing on the outskirts of a small town. His form shifts, changing into an unassuming young human man with wild black hair and golden eyes wearing simple travelers clothes. "Lets see what this could be..."
*i’m assuming the small town he appears in is in fact Sophia’s village*
as he suddenly appears and wanders into town, he is quickly spotted by five or so guards, all with various unconventional weapons, such as hatchets, sickles, et cetera. Although a few had more conventional ones, swords and bows, which seemed new. A few draw said bows, aiming for him, and demanding to know who he is. One runs off to find Sophia.
*Yep*
The man raises his hand with worry and alarm, despite being completely calm on the inside. He doesn't appear to be wearing any armor, nor does he seem to have any weapons on him. "I-I mean no harm, I'm just traveling through..."
Sophia arrives on the scene, a shorter girl in a simple blue dress, with gray eyes and platinum blonde hair, as well as lots of freckles. She has a frown on her face. “Where are you from, ‘traveler,’?”

Also I have a fun thread that explores an idea about dreams based off the movie Inception. I still need to add the link but stay tuned.

As the conversation goes between the two, the eclipse reaches its next halfway point, the world back to the dark scarlet skies and tint.
As the sky changes, and the throbbing of the white rose feeling intesifies, the scarlet light that shines through the windows of the castle, slowly moves until it shines on the metal man, and it glints off his metal body.
Suddenly, the man...moves. A loud screech of metal on metal sounds throughout the lands, and several birds in the forest fly into the air. He now stand, his visored eyes staring at the throne, and then a calm, deep voice echoes from the armor.
"I am coming, Empress." he says slowly to himself

The man draws his second shield, the red in his right, the black in the left, and both, strapped to his arms, suddenly meld with his armor, the black shield to the red side, and the red shield to the black half. As they meld, the giant shield's sides that now face the floor, split suddenly into many metal feathers, and the shields now resembles wings, one of black steel, the other of red. They stick straight out horizontally, and his dual colored breastplate now displays a large dark red rose insignia.

Some of the more observant villagers notice strange behaviors in the plants outside their town. Wherever blood or ichor or other such life essences are spilled from the marauders, the plants seem to grow at an accelerated rate, and some of the plants bear amber thorns dripping with golden toxins that normally don't grow thorns at all.
*toxins, you say?*
after someone pricks themselves on the thorns, Sophia is alerted to the problem. She goes herself to witness it, staying just a few feet back. If the person pricked experiences any affects from poisons, Sophia is alerted.
*Indeed- a rather vicious variety as well...*
The person who was pricked by the thorns begins bleeding from where the thorns touched- and continues to bleed in a steady trickling from his wounds that shows no sign of ceasing. Their skin around the wounds feels like it's full of needles and thorns, and the sensation is spreading through their arm where the thorns struck. Of course, they seem terrified, and are panicking about what to do.
