It is night. Everything seems to be asleep, even the sea which is so still and flat that it is almost impossible to tell where the ocean ends and the stars begin.
The Pelican is gliding quietly over the waters. He opens his bill and dips it into the ocean, tasting the star soaked waters.
Dante is sending small, slender glass boats floating out over the calm surface.
The Pelican pinwheels above them, watching as they drift through the waters. Then he begins to swoop lower over them, beating his wings hard causing the water to ripple and splash with his gusts. The boats lurch side to side dangerously as he assaults them with his miniature tempest. He squawks, "The calmest seas have given way to storm!"
