He nods, but doesn't remove his ear. "Any preference of type?"
He hears many asking for plain bagel, white bread if possible
"Of course. Simplicity is a virtue." He begins to make some bagel dough. "I am not a baker, I should warn you. Bagels are not a specialty of mine, but I did make them for breakfast quite often on the Gut."

"Well, no one does anything perfectly their first time. And I'm not that good a teacher."
"Better than most people. Others would be like 'ew, blind kid. Gotta act gentle around them or they might break!' or they see me as a charity case. You don't though!"

"Bah. Being good and being not bad are separate things. Honestly I don't see the point of being careful around you. You may not be able to see, but it feels like you look right through me sometimes. You are empathetic and insightful, which, to be honest, I am not. You have skills that impress me immediately, just as I have skills that impress you."

"All your skills impress me! I can't even imagine what actually 'looking' looks like. Like what is a tree, how green ares it's leaves. Everything you do is amazing!" She says.

Barbecues lets go of her hands and moves around the kitchen. He comes back with something wet and cold, but solid. Fish. "This may be a bit shocking at first, but... you remember when I showed you how to feel vibrations? I can feel colors. Colors are just the result of how a light reflects off of an object, and if you're sensitive enough, you can feel that light striking and bouncing. Hold on tight." His hands shake as he presses hers against the salmon.
Orange. Striped. Large. It only lasts for a moment, but she feels its color as clearly as eyes could see it.

Tears roll down her cheeks "It's so warm... What color is that? It's like warmth or something. Like being hugged." She tried to find the right word.

"Orange. It is a very bright color. It's... well, exactly what you described. I can teach you to feel colors, but it's an advanced technique. You'll have to learn the basics of vibration sense first."

"Okay!" She chirps wiping her tears.
"We'll start with something simple. You an Bunny can both learn, if he wants. Knives, I've found, are a good place to start. The thinner the better. But that's not for now. Now we finish making the bagels, okay?" He puts the fish away.

She nods, following his hands "Can we put jam on the bagels? I remember liking strawberry!" She chirped. In the corner of his eye, he can see Bunny moving around. He appears to be keeping the kitchen clear of pests.
Barbeau is only mildly impressed. "We're on a wooden boat, cook. I might not always be here to put out any fires." He's messing with some sort of milky substance that smells like smoke. I say 'messing with,' but he seems to know exactly what he's doing.
“Oh don’t worry, I can put out any fires I make, I’m a very functional alcoholic.” He says, although the flames do stop and he begins to focus back on making the food.
Barbeau suddenly claps his hands once. "Time. I'll take out the first course. You decide on the second one. We're looking for cohesion, but you choose the menu. I'll handle the third course based on what you make for the second. Consider it a game." He begins to take the dishes out, along with little flans of some sort.
Damian's finishes the first dish and begins on the second, something that would compliment the fish quite well, he also begins to make beverages for everyone, leaving them on the counter next to the door of the kitchen. He makes sure to season it appropriately, a grin forming on his face as he starts to enjoy himself.
