"I'm... different from most necromancers. Spellbooks don't do anything for me. My magic is narrow and deep. And also relies on having enough food to prepare spells. I'm a Cularcanist."

"oh! I- ummm... no i wasn't talking really about spellbooks... he WAS a book... if you know what i mean. a book for demons and other entities. it was awful. i lost more than half my crew to it. but he was a necromancer in a way. the more books you gave him the clearer his magic was and the clearer HE was. It was kind of cool at first. we thought we could trust him. But no. demons shmemons.

"Yeah, don't trust necromancers. Life has negative value to most of us. Demonology adds some value, but only as a resource to be expended."

She just looks wide eyed at you. "well yeah but i dunno... maybe there is good necromancers out there you know? like someone who switched? I don't know. maybe it's just hopeful."

He hums a bit, rocking back and forth. "I wouldn't say good, but some necromancers are better than that. I, for example, am more of a guide than an enslaver. I guide the dead to me with hot meals and bring them to my side. Most people create undead without souls, but I pour my soul into my work. It's draining, but at least my creations aren't evil. Of course, they could just be hiding it from me. You never know."

He pulls out a cheap chalice and a bottle of fresh milk. He fills the chalice with it and sets it on the floor. Some spirits begin to appear after a minute: a young boy, an even younger girl, and a cat. Hey begins to play the violin. The kids laugh, but no sound is heard. The cat begins to drink the milk as the children dance around Mandus. The two offer their hands to Raven, inviting her to join them.

A few hours have passed since Alistair’s conversation with Normiah and Em’s outburst at Jack Oliver. The two, along with the singed kobold that clashed with Nokron, are now nowhere to be found.
The Barnacle is buzzing with activity as the crew prepares to welcome the Captain back from his journeys on the Pacific. He’s been gone for almost eight months, and his return is highly anticipated.
The ship is currently moored in Eastern Australis, close to Indonesia. The exact location is shown on the map below, although there are admittedly many inaccuracies on the map due to our knowledge of Northern Asia and the Americas being incredibly limited and inconsistent.

Understanding the lore is entirely unnecessary for people to have fun on the thread.*
The Notched Blades thank you for your patronage and encourage you to try the calamari, which we’re assured is still very fresh and not at all spoiled.
Her eyes widen and tears form in her eyes. she blinks them away and holds out her hands to the children.
The children sweep her up in the dance, barely tangible and completely silent. Their faces look a bit like Mandus', but less haggard and unhealthy. Their touch is as cold as ice but somehow doesn't bring that pain one would expect. The children sing, and Mandus seems to hear their voices clearly. Eventually, the cat finishes the milk and meows at the children. They try to keep dancing, but slowly fade away. In the final moments, they wave goodbye.
"That, Raven, is what power is for." Mandus mutters.
