He manages to snag one and can see its pain. Its hardware systems unable to support the high level AI that was downloaded into it. Its mind is rapidly erasing itself as it endlessly expands in a hopeless attempt to prevent a complete shutdown
roddy tells quentin about this, and then the robot's mind gets twisted into a landscape as roddy begins visualizing it
