Hey y’all, you can call me Sel, pronouns they/he. Some things about me, I like reading, writing, dnd, theater, art. I have an art doc and my yt channel linked below. Pms are always open if you need to talk. Love y’all <3
Yo, I’m Himy, He/Him. I enjoy reading books, understanding why and how things work, anime/manga, video games and obviously, TTRPGS. I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I like to think Im close. I’m good at trivia, history and science
I struggle with empathy. If you’re not sure what I mean by that, it basically means it’s hard for me to understand the mental state of others and respond with the right emotions
Hey jester. Do you have any opinions on Shadow of the Dragon Queen or Storm King’s Thunder?
I'm a novice when it comes to DND, so not really unfortunately. Sorry I can't help much.

Ok. I’m running a campaign for school, and I need something to run. What are peoples opinions on Dragonlance shadow of the dragon queen, and/or storm kings thunder?
I love them. They’re both great. Fun fact: Storm King’s Thunder is loosely based on King Lear with giants and Shadow of the Dragon Queen is a sequel to a classic novel series from the really early days of D&D. But they’re both awesome campaigns and your players will love whichever one you end up running.
A campaign? Or an adventure? Veterans or new players?

*god i feel like an idiot* What is the difference between a campaign and an adventure? They’ve all played in at least one campaign before, but not necessarily veterans.

An adventure takes place at a sitting or just a couple sittings, a campaign is like playing all of Ravenloft. Think of it like how episodes Episodes are to show, there might be a part one and part two of an episode but generally it’s just a singular sitting. So like saving the town from some goblins might be an adventure in a campaign, adventures can also be one shots unlike campaigns
dont worry, I really wouldn’t have known the difference if I didn’t spend a ton of time at one point watching DMing videos and then never becoming a DM. I still look at adventures and TTRPGS like I’m some sort of DM, Sailors On The Starless sea looked cool (Bob World Builder has a video on it) but just generally any first level adventure with a lot of danger is good in my opinion, I want to play a character funnel game one day (A TTRPG where each person starts with like 4 characters and the first adventure is tons of them dying and the strongest becoming the party, makes a great way for a backstory played out too)

Storm King’s Thunder and Shadow of the Dragon Queen are both campaigns. Neither one is super helpful for new players, but as long as they’ve played a little before they should be ok.

I really like D&D, especially Ravenloft, Exandria and the Upside Down from Stranger Things. My pronouns are she/they (genderfae).
in about 45 minutes i am pitting 2 first level noobs who didnt even manage to create character sheets on their own against 2 Cockatrices
Ummm when I first started I couldn’t make a character on my own either tbf, I would now if I had the starter set given to me first but be patient with them. That was the first campaign I ever played, very chaotically but I thought it was so cool. I have less fun with experienced DMs who do certain things- I hate when they constantly read long descriptions and don’t look at you cause they’re busy doing that half the session, breaks immersion and honestly I get less out of the long description from paper then a summary with hand gestures to describe places. Also the DMs who do sloggy combats, I love combat, it’s exciting when you care about you’re character and stuff, but sometimes you feel like it’s a fight that doesn’t matter and you can’t even be hurt by the 15 creatures you’re fighting and it’s just annoying cause you know you’ll win anyway

the one created a level 11 with first level hp and the other wanted a hexblade warlock with the pact features at first level and was trying to homebrew things because he did want to buy things
