I knew it wasn't gonna live forever, but it's still a bit sad. Maybe I should have taken care of it better.
It is a bit sad. That thread will always be my favorite on the forums. I think part of why it’s been dying is partially due to my glitch (which removed me from roleplaying for three months) but I’m not sure. If you’re up for it, there’s always a possibility for revival or something like that. :>
I think it's because of Kingdoms and Crowns. I need that place to stay alive or at least return every now and then. Where else am I going to play my cowboy god?

Yeah, a lot of people have migrated to Kingdoms and Crowns very suddenly.
i do have one other idea, but it’s pretty ambitious and I’m not sure if it’d be the best idea.

I'd be very interested in hearing this idea if you're willing to share it.
You know, I'm just going to post this here. It's an idea for a world/power system based on a bunch of ideas I've had all mixed together.
So basically, Spirits. They exist, and they are manifestations of the general collective subconscious of the area. Folklore monsters. Everything from aliens to ghosts to faeries can be real, and they are all difficult to kill because of their nature as psychic manifestations. So we have Slayers to face off against them, using multiple different tactics, the only one I've really worked on being Familiars, which are subservient spirits that can be summoned and tailored to fit the needs of their master as long as they maintain the same sort of theme. Still, each master only has one Familiar that has a limited set of powers to share. Like a JoJo stand mixed with a Digimon. Also, you have to take care of the Familiar, the better they're taken care of, the more powerful they are, and they're not just for fighting, they can be useful for just about anything.
I have a lot of dumb ideas for Slayer styles, but this one is the most developed right now. Another idea I had was that Slayers could consume psychic energy (Spirit parts) to heal themselves or create a level of invisible supernatural armor, but that one might need work.

I love it, I would also love a thread with this power system too, it's incredibly open ended and just what I like with the folklore elements tied with unique powers between people, I'm very impressed and I'd like to see more!

It’s only a basic concept, and I don’t know if we do it, we should wait a while or anything, and only if Baalz is up to it or we decide not to just try reviving the Smorgasbord.
basically, the Smorgasbord, if you didn’t know, is a sequel thread, to my original, much messier thread, the universe Canvas, with the same concept. The smorgasbord takes place in a different world than the canvas, heavily implied to be after the canvas’ world ends. So what if that happened again?
For a sports thread, I think it'd be cool to focus less on the actual gameplay of the sports, and more on the development of individual characters. Winning big competitions and stuff could be done as story, but it'd be a nightmare actually trying to do that in PBP without adjusting things significantly or spending a bunch of time developing stuff. Instead I think playing different athletes (who could possibly also get magic enhancements through adrenaline/'the power of determination!'/whatever just to engage things more) and then having them follow whatever path and story their player wants them to follow, but with the roleplay interactions being one-on-one rivalries and competitions between foes would be easier to run and could lead to some cool character developments I think.
The best example of a sports interaction I've done was the basketball interaction between Henri and April on ATRSIEHT (yet another dead thread of mine, lost to time..)
I mean I have been brainstorming a system for a soccer thread, but it’s probably a bit overly complex
Nah I'd love to hear it, football isn't a particularly complicated game to begin with so I'd imagine that it could transfer into text pretty nicely.
Okay, so, doing most things (shooting, stealing, dribbling) will be done through a dice roll. The size of the die will depend on your play style, of which there are (Forward, Midfielder and Defender) and what kind of action you’re doing. For example, if you’re shooting, the dice would be a d8 if you’re a Forward, a d6 if you’re a midfielder, and a d4 if you’re a defender. Stealing would be the other way around (d8 for defender, d6 for midfielder and d4 for forward) you would also get to add the appropriate stat modifier. STR would be for power shots or trying to out muscle other players, DEX would be curved shots/passes and dribbling CON is your stamina (still working on how exactly it works). Mental stats also matter, but not as much. CHA is you composure/taunting ability, allowing you to preform well under pressure and throw others off their game respectively. INT is your game sense and ability to read the field, and WIS is your instincts and reaction time. So that previous shot for a Forward would become a d8+STR and that steal would become a d8+INT, WIS or STR, depending on what kind of steal it is.
As you can likely tell, this still needs a good bit of work

Awesome! I do think it would work well for a thread, but I'd need to make some worldbuilding to go with it.
I want it to be set in about the 90s (tech-wise) with reflavored weapons and armor at the players' option. I like the occult 90s aesthetic because it allows for some pretty nasty Information Age monsters. Hhmmmm... it would also be cool if it were in a rural area instead of a city, so we still have classic monsters like giant wolves and wood demons and such.
Anyway, I think this could be cool too.

That’s very impressive and it’s evident you’ve put a lot of work into it! With football in particular, whilst individual players can and will stand out, I’d imagine it would be easier to run things on a team unit system, with maybe one ‘captain’ player that has a standalone stat block. Basically, the way I’d see it is that you’d use the same system you’ve made, but instead of individual stats for each player, which is a lot to handle, your team as a whole would have stats that could change based on how much effort and focus you put into the areas? Like high DEX teams against high STR teams depending on how you configure your players, that kinda thing. Idk, just spitballing but that seems to me like a good starting point for a manageable, streamlined way of doing things, maybe you could look at some football video games for inspiration and see what they did?

Yeah, that sounds awesome I love it, I’m a big fan of the 90s occult vibe too, and although this came a little later, tonnes of modern folklore of sorts originated from the early Internet and video games at the time (I’m thinking like ‘Mew under the truck’ in Pokemon Red style playground rumours stuff lol)

I personally think that it would be better focusing on individuals, so that way, when players form their teams, everyone has their own skills and will have their time to shine. And plus, Bluelock, which I was inspired by when I made this, has that as their main theme. If you don’t find what make you special, what separates you from everyone else, or you hang back to much, you’re going to end up a nobody
