While that is awesome, I don't think it would be very fun to be in a literally adversarial relationship with the DM.
The big problem I'm having is I don't know how to play a goblin. They have a culture and a society that is just... completely alien to me.
I'm thinking of making my own homebrew species called Dreglumps that live in swamps and are similarly looked down upon, as they are often minions of creatures like hags and black dragons.
Perhaps they're related to Familiar spirits in some way.
I didn’t realize it was for the position of a player, sorry. The Dreglumps sound like fun, and them being related to Familiar spirits could lead to some fun interactions.
Mechanically they're gonna be identical to goblins unless I come up with something better. I have no idea what to do with them, unfortunately.
I had the idea that they spawned from a bog mummy that used to be an Archfey.

Hey y’all, you can call me Sel or Julian or whatever, I don’t really care. Pronouns are they/he. Some things about be, I like reading, writing, dnd, theater, art. I have an art doc and my yt channel linked below. Pms are always open if you need to talk. Love y’all <3
I just saw a video on snow getting you blind (Not sure if it was accurate) and they where like 'despite the pretty glistening'. As a Canadian, when it glistens, everyone outside experiences pain (My eyes literally hurt when the snow freezes. From shinyness)

I used to live in Alaska, and I can agree that snow can be painful on the eyes. Snowmen are murderers of the soul.

Yeah. I love snowmen even tho they blind you (Especially when they freeze)... I once made a 8 foot tall snowman with my brother, and a bunch of 4-7 foot tall next to it. They hurt a bit
Evening y’all i got to spend time lying on the floor holding hands with my friends and it made me so happy :>

I also made a new character, I finally broke an old rule too. I finally made a good, normal character. I didn't expect it to be fun, but with all the mad warlords I have made over the years this one was new. (He doesn't even have a tragic backstory.)

How interesting! My characters generally fall into three categories: good, but utterly traumatized (such as Elijah on Camp Half-Blood), sadistic, tricksy monsters (such as the Godmother) and then well meaning, more neutral people, but with a secret or a twist (such as Mother Moth, from Autumn Country)

That idea can lead to an interesting adventure. A bog mummy is controlling a civilization of Dreglumps and they don't like it. Sadly, a rebellion would lead to the source of their people to likely die, so they must admit to the control. At least until a certain group of adventurers arrive.

That's exactly how mine are! Such as my favorite good character who lives in Borovia, my sly Gnome artificer, and Malrick.
desc: face is a rotating wheel of drama masks depicting different emotions, has a red sailor type dress with gray cuffs, green gloves, and blue shows. No limbs, and she can control and manipulate story elements. She has some sort of connection to the constellations and night sky but i haven’t figured it fully out yet. Her character design with the masks is similar to Hecate in Punderworld. She doesn’t have a body, btw.
personality: generally a really genial and light hearted person, but when she gets mad or sad it’s not good. She doesn’t generally manipulate story elements in malicious ways, but sometimes she’ll do things just for the funnies. She’s kind of mix between the story weaver, Circe, and the collector. I‘m thinking she can see the puppet strings of others (like how people can see the lines of magic in the one nightingale book i forgot the girls name) and pluck them, changing fate generally in minor ways, but sometimes in bigger ones. She will do things others ask and doesn’t really have morals, although there are some people she will do anything to protect. Also random nonsense just happens around her sometimes because she accidentally plucks the strings of objects so they do goofy things.

Actually, my characters actually (mostly) fall into these categories too: Alexius was a good person, but snapped when he lost his best friend (Tenebrae Sine Fine); Senu has no emotional capacity and loves bending and breaking the minds of others (Battle of the Most Trickiest, Cunning, and Deceitful); and Natari is a good person, but lacks empathy, and so can seem uncaring (Vinstreb School for the Gifted).

Ooh I absolutely love that. Puppet aesthetic + fate weaving is a marvelous combo.
mine is named Edith Perte, and she is a fairy Godmother. Two important things about Fairy Godmothers in my world, they cannot raise the dead, and they are born of someone’s genuine hope for change. Edith Perte was born of the hope of a grieving mother that her dead child would somehow return to her. As her first Godchild, Edith could not simply abandon her, not until their wish is fulfilled. (As in, she literally can’t. She’s bound to her godchild until their wish is granted.) and she stays with her, trying to comfort her, to get over it, for years and years and years. Eventually, she just… snaps. Her godchild will never let it go, never stop wishing, and will never see her child again. So, in a final attempt to leave and gain a new godchild, Edith murders her first one.
She quickly regrets it, and tries to undo her mistake- but she can’t bring back the dead. So she works to try and find a way to bring her back without her fairy godmother magic- but nothing works, somehow. So now, she continues her duty as a fairy godmother, but she asks for something in exchange for her services: seven years of their life. She is collecting them so that she may use the collected years to return her first godchild to life and undo her mistake- at whatever cost. (She requires… a lot of years, they were an elf)
