(DISCLAIMER: NOT AN EXPERT, JUST A MUSIC ENTHUSIAST): I think being Emo is vastly less popular than other subcultures like Punk, because the general public sees Emo as kids who just wear a lot of black, are sad, like to be whiny, and are cringe. Not saying that’s what I think, but I’m pretty certain that’s what most people think of Emo’s. Kinda the same with furries, common people just aren’t on the same page/don’t relate with them. Not to mention that what is Emo is very confusing to the average Joe, I once met someone who used Emo to literally just mean sad music. Then there’s stuff like Pop Punk that kinda gets merged with Emo in most people's minds. Also doesn’t help that many emos are having a phase, and I know that’s said about a lot of things and it’s incorrect, I’ve never met an adult Emo, even though I’ve met adult punks and hippies and stuff like that.
Personally I wouldn’t consider myself Emo, and other than Midwest Emo I’m not really into it. I also think there’s a relatively fine line between cool edgy and cringe edgy, and some Emo bands to me definitely fall into the cringe side of things. If you have any really good suggestions I’d be willing to try them though, as I haven’t listened to that many emo artists.

It featured the poem "boots", and great songs like ramalama, saint bernard, me and the devil, and ashes and blood from ARCANE. Ashes and blood was actually romeo and juliet's love theme. The fast version played when they met, the slow version played when they died. It was really good
