Covens are groups of Magikerin that specialize in their own form of Hexerei. They are generally genetic, as most children inherit their mother’s Hexerei, but there are some exceptions (trans women, those special little sunflowers who don’t follow the rules of evolution, etc.). These exceptions must find their own coven (covenless Magikerin are frowned upon, as they generally don’t have a good education or grasp on their Hexerei), applying to them based off their unique Hexerei (apply is a stretch, if the coven doesn’t have an excessive amount of people or an ancient feud with your people you will be accepted).

Yeah idk. Thanks tho. I got to rp with this one person who I’d never played with before and it was so silly. I’m playing a traumatized bard who deals through sarcasm and jokes, he’s playing a traumatized monk who hates social interaction. I see, same as always, then.

Untethering is the act of willingly entering the Nonexistence. It involves intentionally Letting Go, and it destroys nearly *sometimes things escape* every object that would remind others of you. When you Untether, everybody forgets about you. The stronger a connection you had with a person, the more you recognize that someone disappeared, but you don’t know who. HOWEVER if you are a person's Tether, then you are the most likely to remember and Retether them because you were so close that the Untethering didn’t fully work. Kind of like su1c1d3 but you don’t die and nobody remembers you so they don’t have the pain of losing you.
Tethers:
A Tether is something that a person is extremely attached to, generally emotionally. Tethers can change over time, but a person doesn’t generally have more than 5 or 6 in a lifetime. Tethers can be people or objects. If it is an object, a person must find that object and complete the Retethering ritual to bring them back, if the Tether is a person, all the Tether needs to do is remember the person, truly remember them (can be useful to complete parts of the Retethering), and they will come back from the Nonexistence.
Retethering:
Retethering is the process of bringing a person back from the Nonexistence, and it involves the Tether and a couple other random nonsense things (coin *kind of like drachma*, moonstone, luna moth, phoenix feather). When you Retether, you can end up with the same Tether, or a different one, depending on the circumstances
The ritual must be started on a new moon, in which the Phoenix feather is placed in a lantern with fuel to keep it burning continuously, and placed on the highest area around- so that it can be seen. The Phoenix feather’s light guides the person back to existence over the course of a month- (the ritual takes one month, ending on the full moon). The Lunar Moth is attracted to the flame and, on the final night of the ritual, will die and turn to ashes, a sort of sacrifice to complete the ritual. The moonstone channels the power of the night sky, and the Phoenix feather’s lantern must be placed on or near the moonstone. The silver coin is to be used after a person has come back, and is used to reconnect the person with their old Tether, or with a new one

Fueled by spite and obsessive competitiveness, today I started researching the Meisner technique and watched the devil wears Prada. Both in preparation for my next audition.
I did state that this was my opinion. In response to the guy that said I am looking in the wrong places, I am looking at a wide spectrum of stuff. I never said there wasn’t good output, but that overall, industries like Hollywood and Disney aren’t putting out a lot of great movies or films like they used to.
Thats not saying that nothing they put out is good, but that most of it is pretty mid, in my opinion.
To the fourteen-year-old, I actually agree with you and think you might have misunderstood me. I, too, love Star Wars as a setting and universe. But I also think the prequels suck. Doesn’t mean we can’t have good stories anymore, which is why I mentioned Andor, as it is pretty sweet!
CGI/GFX budgets have been kinda lame recently, in certain spots. Transformers 1 is used a lot in comparison with The Flash movie or whatever. I think it is fair though. HOWEVER, I think it has more to do with the movie direction than actual CGI. DUNE is wonderful. But the people in charge of DUNE were more willing to create a better CGI budget and it shows very blatantly.
Personally, I thought this place was just where you can gripe about things, but I seem to have touched a nerve or two. My apologies. I am also pretty sure I mentioned at the end of my first post that these were my opinions. But if I missed that, then again I apologize.
Just trying to get a feel for the forums here.
You can have opinions all you want. We can also have differing opinions. For example, I think that idea that Hollywood and Disney being on a decline means that storytelling as a whole is on a decline is just silly. Those are two major hitters in the industry sure, but that doesn’t mean that all of storytelling is failing, because it doesn’t exclusively consist of American tv shows and movies. If you look pretty much anywhere else, you’d see that we’re actually on the up and up. Indie animation, video games, anime and manga, comics, novels. In the past few years (hell, even just this year) there’s been all kinds of major drops.
I still don’t think you understand what has been attempted to be articulated here, which is fine.
The idea was that mainstream media outlets have been mid recently and because they control a lot of what we get to see and hear, it is harder for the average Joe to find something worth reading, watching, or playing.
Your opinions are fine, but the manner in which you shared them comes across very aggressive and personal when it sounds like that is not the intended affect. Phrases such as “that’s a you problem” are usually perceived as antagonistic, especially when the rest of the words used before hand are specifically targeted in picking apart another person’s perspective.
While I don’t disagree with your point of view, I do not agree with the way in which you criticized my view. When opening this thread, the first few lines explain that this place shouldn’t be where we “dis” on someone else’s opinions. There are a plethora of mature and respectful manners for any two parties to professionally disagree with each other.
This brings me to my next hot take, if you will. Online/internet culture has definitely had a negative impact on the way we communicate with each other. Seemingly, there is no immediate consequence for coming across disrespectful and apathetic towards our fellow men. What transpires on the photons in front of us escalates into immature and even often violent altercations in the physical world.
Do not take this is a slight. It is a learning curve for even me. My issue is with my expectations of being able to be supported in my ability to confess what troubles me in today’s world. I should not have been naive enough to think that what was said would be congratulated like the comments made prior to my first post.
There is a common theme in these “hot takes” of mine. For some it is hard to see the full picture. That comes from pride. Ego, at its base, is actually a good thing. It is what makes us unique and allows us to make decisions for ourselves! Over inflated ego has a more detrimental effect in that it is what makes us think that our opinions and ideas are superior to others, and as such, other ideas and opinions are deserving of the technological apathy I spoke of before.
I am in no way actually offended or upset with anyone currently. This is my way of attempting to edify those around me through my sharing of previous experiences in general.
We live in what I call the Age of Entitlement. The world would have us believe that we are deserving of every good thing that can ever come to us, merely existing being the only merit needed to deserve such a ridiculous award.
I challenge any who read this to take time away from the wiles of the chaotic and fast-paced world we live in to ponder. Ponder about the things you have. Ponder about where you are. What have you been blessed with? Hopefully, in this meager attempt to develop an attitude of gratitude, humility will set in.
Then, my dear new friends, the world will gain temperate, patient, respectful, resilient, and powerful mediators and peacemakers in a world that desperately needs them.
Maybe then, humanity will have more uplifting and unifying encounters with each other and less degrading and demeaning ones.
I am the self-proclaimed, Lord Charles, of absolutely Nothing and absolutely Nowhere.
Edify and Uplift, my friends. And may you each find the peace and solace you have earned.
