Evil beetle demons come from the darkness and poison things inside the town. They are known as the Possessed and come in many shapes and sizes. Some are the size of regular beetles, and some stand six feet high. Their eyes are pitch black and smoke streams from their shells. Whatever they touch immediately becomes Poisoned (being poisoned is when you slowly start to turn Possessed. Sometimes you become a full beetle Possessed and others you become half Possessed. Inanimate objects start leaking smoke and have a darker color. If you touch one you must succeed on a con saving throw dc of 10(?) and if you consume one then you must succeed on a con saving throw dc of something higher).
Alrighty. I'll scan through the monster lost to see if there's a suitable template, then I'll tweak a few things if I can find one.
Um I kinda just wanted advice on how to do it?
OH, okay. Mostly, you just want a good template for it. Scroll through the monster list and see if you can find one that would be a good base for the monster, then start out with the most basic things. For its melee attacks, add an affect that makes it to where a creature touched by the attack has to succeed on a certain DC Con save or become poisoned. And for the Possessed thing, I'd say do that according to petrification rules.
