One time, one of the transfusions carried the HIV virus, and he got sick. The first case, or one of the first cases, of HIV in children in America. The rest of the play is in the hospital, where the kid is slowly dying alone, with just his parents, an optimistic doctor, and the occasional visit from a friend to comfort him. It does, in fact, end with him dying.
