I fence and I’ve got a small tournament tomorrow. It’s also Mother’s Day tomorrow, and my dad wants to go visit my grandma and other family right afterwards. I can’t do that. I need rest.
The way those tournaments work is there’s a deciding round, where the people in charge figure out who you’re fit to go against in the elimination round. (It’s usually someone weaker or stronger than you, the goal is for the best and second best to fight.) Then there’s the elimination round, where you fight someone, if you loose, you’re out, if you win, you fight the winner of another match. Until only 2 people are left, then one.
I told my dad I was gonna be tired, but he said I could rest in the car. The car has something in the air that makes it hard to rest. I told him that, and he was like, you’re only gonna be in one or two fights. (Actually true, but still rude.) He was basically implying that I was bad at fencing and I’d lose really early on.
This probably made no sense to anyone, but it really pissed me off.
