Sooo my mum bought me ‘Trans’…(I don’t want to mention the author, but it’s a pretty anti-trans book)
Ohhhhh. Why’d she get it?
Because I mentioned one of my friends was trans, and then my mum, her husband, and my stepbrother all got into a one sided argument with me. And then she didn’t like that I hadn’t changed my opinions so she bought me the book.
Whenever we argue, she always makes sure that someone’s on her side and then she gangs up on me. It always ends up with me shutting down cause It’s really stressful to be in that position, and then she keeps getting more angry at me because I LITERALLY cannot answer her.
I seem to recall another instance of abuse brought upon you by your mother (not naming it here to keep your privacy). This is first and foremost abuse. You should not have to put up with this, and there should be someone there to prevent this from happening. Please find someone to intervene in these situations or speak to a professional about this, because this really has an impact and you, again, should not have to put up with this.
The thing is, I already had to get a professional involved for something I will not mention here(if you really want to know ask me on discord or in PMs but it’s a sensitive subject). It just caused so much stress and nothing really happened, if anything the situation got worse cause I can’t see my dad anymore(no fault of his, and it’s not legal or anything, my mum just doesn’t want me to see him anymore), and my dad was the only person I could really talk to about this situation for an unbiased opinion(my friends are gonna be biased obvs, and most of my family I don’t really feel comfortable talking to about this kind of stuff)
On top of all of that, I’ve got a baby sister now, and if anything big happened between me and my mum, I would probably never see her again. It’s just so difficult to know what to do tbh.
I don’t think abuse is a matter of bias. Please find a professional, this really isn’t okay for your mom to be doing.

Can confirm. I was in a similar situation. But I got incredibly lucky and didn't have to diffuse the situation.

Look, if your mum is abusing you in this way, you and your sister would probably go to your dad and your mother would suffer some consequences. I understand that it's hard to give up on someone like this, but, at the same time, you should consider telling someone who would take action. You at least don't deserve to live like this.

I think you probably are going to have to talk to your dad about this, like this is absolutely not ok, this is abuse, and you need to tell someone about this, otherwise it literally will only get worse. This should not be happening. You have to tell someone who can do something about it.

To elaborate, you could (should) seek law enforcement if this behavior continues. In the meantime, contact a school advisor/counselor/trusted adult (you can tell them not to reach out to the police) to at least have someone to fall back on the next time that something like this happens.

Guys. I… have something to say. I’m not sure if this thread includes love/relationship advice, but here goes.
I have a crush on a girl. We’ve known each other for about 4 years now, and we’re good friends. I have her in half my classes, which is pretty good given that I don’t have a small amount of classes. We actually do share a lot of the same interests, and at one point I did invite her to my birthday party (which was a movie, although there were like 5 other people there with us).
I’m currently stuck. There’s a local fair coming up next week, and I want to invite her to it. The thing is, I’m not sure if this would be too big of a step for a first date. To make matters worse, there’s a couple things compounding the situation.
Firstly, I’m only available on one of the days of the fair. Secondly, our whole school goes to a camp for the first three days of school, so we get back Friday, meaning she can’t ask her parents if she’s free then. Thirdly, at the end of last year she was in a relationship. She was talking about how she was probably going to leave the relationship, but I don’t know if she’s in another one now. Fourthly, she doesn’t know that I’m queer, and while I’m nervous to tell her, I don’t want her to misgender me.
Finally. And this is the worst part. I’ve seen firsthand that crushes and relationships can ruin friendships if they become toxic. Also, for our school, no secrets are secret for long. I’d probably be teased mercilessly about it, and everyone would know within about a week or so, even if it’s not official.
Hoping for y’all’s advice, because I’m going to need to ask her about it soon in order to check availability.

So ask her if she's got a boyfriend, plain and simple. Confess what you feel for her. If you truly want to be with her, you wouldn't be scared of asking her out. So what if everyone hears? Who cares?
Life is too short to worry about this type of bullshit and how it might ruin your life. Go forward and ******* do it. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. But there's no time, at that point, to look back and wonder about what could've been.
For my sake, for Tana's, for everyone's here but most importantly yours, do this and don't look back. If she says no, be proud of the fact that she was honest and that you learn from the experience.

I really want to. But. Asking someone if they’re single (to me) is just… weird. And off. I do like her, but the last time I tried this, the friendship was ruined. I barely speak to the person anymore. I have a constant fear of rejection (which I’ve said a lot of times), and I’m afraid if I do this, I’ll be left alone again. I’m terrified of being brokenhearted, because I’ve been there before.

It is completely normal to ask someone if they're in a relationship. If you like her, you might have to risk your friendship. Decide who she is to you----a friend or a lover?
A broken heart is bullshit. There's 8 billion people out there, and each relationship makes your next one better. You're what, 15? 16? You're not going to find the love of your life today.

Hi Link!

Aig amannan bidh mi air mo ghlacadh ro mhòr an-dràsta...It is completely normal to ask someone if they're in a relationship. If you like her, you might have to risk your friendship. Decide who she is to you----a friend or a lover?
A broken heart is bullshit. There's 8 billion people out there, and each relationship makes your next one better. You're what, 15? 16? You're not going to find the love of your life today.
I believe in our country, our freedoms, our promises, and the Oxford comma,
and no tyrant nor regime can change my mind.
Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds.
