The device is violently struck by lightning. It shudders for a few seconds before settling down. The three pongs that served as its stand fold up to be a rubber-coated handle on the rod, making it into a sort of weapon. Clu kneels down and picks it up. “Perfect.”

Could Aly be a regular person who was touched by a ghost, but his body took it badly and put him into a coma for 5 years where he wasn’t aging, and during that time could the strain of it weakened his memories and his normally very strong body? 
His body, which was in the coma, was thrown into the ocean by other people who were sick of sustaining him until he woke up, and he washed up on to the shore.
