the hellfire cage, despite being rattled, simply does not break or shatter, and Ragnaris is so, so, so weak… the pit fiends, one on either side of him, fly through the portal and into a deep, dark, dismal cavern with no light besides dim, smoky hellfires lighting the area. It’s all one giant cavern, Nessus, lair of Asmodeus. In the very middle there is an enormous spire of black stone rising of a seemingly infinitely deep trench, ringed with white rocks resembling teeth. The trench is burning with constant fires breaking out. For the time being, Ragnaris’ new, wonderful home.

In the very middle there is an enormous spire of black stone rising of a seemingly infinitely deep trench, ringed with white rocks resembling teeth. The trench is burning with constant fires breaking out. For the time being, Ragnaris’ new, wonderful home.
Ragnaris can't even feel the pain at the moment, as his thoughts are so muddled his pain receptors are ceasing to function. He roars loudly enough to completely destroy the eardrums of the pit fiends carrying him, then begins thrashing around in the cage.

Hi there! My name's Elk. I'm NoiSilverheart's doppelgänger. I'm a demi/grayromantic, socially awkward Okie who may or may not be a pyromaniac. *random confetti blast*
I'm a warlock of the Archcrone, and my patron is TheFriendlyArchfey. I was nicknamed AchatesCervus8337 by VitusW and given the titles "Swashbuckling Scorcher", "The Unpredictable Jedi", "Burning Fury of the Ancients", and "Combustion Knight" by DrummerBoyDragonSlayer.
Of all to the attacks, only the arcane spears seem to be doing much damage, the rest absorbed by the disgusting mass of putrid flies, slowly thinning and revealing Abaddon underneath.
Abaddon’s con save: 36 if he fails, he uses another use of lord of the court. Astaroth is hit by the bite, and silently shrieks on pain but doesn’t show it. Astaroth’s turn.
to hit: 29 damage: 30
to hit: 19 damage: 34
legendary action, contempt of the court. 111 psychic.
lair action, DC 28 wisdom save or take 97 psychic, half on a success.
on his turn, another Feeblemind: 44, as well as another contempt of the court.
Ragnaris is absolutely exhausted at this point, but he keeps on fighting, not knowing that Rag had already left. He uses another barrage of Arcane Spears, causing Abaddon to take 19 multiplied by 10 force damage.
He then points a single claw at Abaddon, and suddenly the ominous sound of tolling bells fills the air around the devil. He must succeed on a DC 30 Wis save or take 32 necrotic damage. He then bites Astaroth.
Attack: 35
Damage: 52 magical piercing
36 fire (ignores immunity and resistance)
Abaddon’s crown of vermin spell fades completely, the flies lying scattered, dead before him. Abaddon’s save: 30
Astaroth is very close to death again, but like usual, keeps swinging.
to hit: 23 damage: 37
to hit: 23 damage: 41
As a legendary action, Abaddon uses the fun ability we all love: contempt of the court. Automatic hit, 149 psychic damage.
as a lair action, Astaroth takes a turn.
to hit: 24 damage: 39
to hit: 24 damage: 49
Abaddon’s turn, if he recharges Final verdict 3 he uses that and Rag becomes Guilty. Otherwise he uses contempt of the court and casts his last use of Feeblemind. 41 for Feeblemind, 164 for contempt of the court. Feeblemind is a DC 28 save.
Ragnaris again counterspells the feeblemind. He then uses his Arcane Spears to cause Abaddon to take 13 multiplied by 10 force damage.
Ragnaris swiftly dodges all of Astaroth's attacks. He looks fine out the outside, but his mind is in excruciating pain, and he is exhausted beyond compare. However, he keeps on fighting. Four bolts of crackling energy leap from him, all four of them heading for Abaddon.
Bolt #1: 41
Damage: 14
Bolt #2: 41
Damage: 19
Bolt #3: 36
Damage: 19
Bolt #4: 40
Damage: 19
His scales then begin to heat up to such an extreme that suddenly it feels like both Abaddon and Astaroth are standing on the surface of the sun. They both take 54 fire damage (ignores immunity and resistance).
Astaroth dies again, and Abaddon is heavily injured at less than half health. as a legendary action, uses another Contempt of the court.
155 psychic damage.
mythic action, DC 28 wisdom save, 79 psychic damage.
then, on Abaddon’s turn, they take another deep breath, inhaling the putridity of the brimstone smell around him, the rot and decay of the millions of dead flies, and the fetid rancidness of Astaroth’s own charred, broken and melted body. Make another DC 28 con save, gaining 4 levels of exhaustion on a fail, or 2 on a success.
Wis save: 23
Con save: 27
Should the exhaustion reduce Ragnaris to 0 hiy points, he activates his Chromatic Awakening. His hit point count resets to his max hp, and all effects on him end, including exhaustion.
Level 6 exhaustion doesn’t reduce hitpoints, it just kills you. So I think that since Ragnaris had 4 levels Of exhaustion before, and now has the max, I think Abaddon and Astaroth win. I think so at least, I checked how chromatic awakening worked.
(Hmm... well this is a predicament. What happens now?)
Ragnaris is so overcome with exhaustion, his old bones give out. He collapses to the ground, barely breathing. He croaks out the words, "I'm sorry... Ragnerious...", before finally he stops breathing. The great dragon lies there, dead.
Abaddon, bloody, heavily injured, broken, battered, bruised, nearly dead, manages to Swing their Gavel into the air and slam it on their desk.
”GUILTY.”
Abaddon, breathing heavily and with all of their ribs broken, raises their hand and Astaroth rises back to life, as Ragnaris’ corpse disappears and reappears in a shining, burning hot cage of hellfire, burning every inch of their skin. They wake up, with five levels of exhaustion and one hitpoint.
”I sentence both Ragnerious and Ragnaris to one hundred years of torture in the trench of Asmodeus, their essences scooped from their bodies twice a day with burning pots and fed to a serpent, digested, and reformed into their mortal bodies, kept in burning cages of Hellfire. Trial Adjourned, FIND RAGNARIS.”
two pit fiends fly up and magically grab onto the cage and haul it out the doors, a pathway appearing for them, leading to a portal to Nessus, the ninth layer of hell.
The hellfire doesn't affect Ragnaris. He slams himself against the bars, causing them to shudder and rattle. His mind is so overtaken with rage and concern for Ragnerious that he can't even form coherent thoughts. All he knows is that he HAS to break free.
Seeing that the hellfire doesn’t scorch or burn Ragnaris due to his unique powers, he flicks his hand and they become psychic flames instead. He feels the pain, even if it doesn’t deal any harm physically.

While in the air, the pit fiends yowl in pain and fall a few hundred feet. It’s around ten miles to the bottom of Nessus, but they manage to catch themselves. One of them bangs their mace against the cage, sending it rocking to try and get him to stop. The other uses levitation to keep moving the cage towards the trench of Asmodeus.
Lonely is back hanging out in Jason’s astral kingdom.
The aura around Jason feels, disappointed. Jason doesn't seem different but the air around them is different. Jason places a sandwich in front of them.
“Thanks!” They take a bite out of the sandwich.
”hey…” they start to say to Jason.
”does something feel wrong to you?”
Jason doesn't look at Lonely, his voice is cold but confused "What were you doing outside?"
“Just… having some fun. Why?”
"Because someone died, and apparently you enjoyed it."
“…I have no idea what you’re talking about, ha-ha…” they look nervous.
His voice turns even colder "Oh. Well Shade does." Shade steps out of Lonely's shadow.
Lonely jumps back a bit seeing shade, but doesn’t say anything.
"I'm disappointed Lonely. Explain yourself." Shade goes to stand next to Jason.
“ThepersonwhodiedwasJylekandJylekismeantheyhurtmetheyalmostkilledmeandihatethemihatethemihatethemihatethemihatethemihatethem…” they blurt out lightning fast, pulling at their hair in stress. They look like they’re about to faint.
"Get out." He takes off the apron and it pops out of existance. He points to the gate with a single finger "I need to think, so get out."
“W-what?” They say, their voice shaking. They take a few steps towards the exit.
Jason's voice is also slightly shaky "Goodbye Lonely." Once he leaves the gate closes behind him.
