Deep in the forests of the Appalachian Mountains lies Site-58, an SCP Foundation containment site dedicated to the containment and study of nearby anomalies. The site covers an area of mountains around 300 square kilometers. Throughout the area are woods, a research station, and an intertwined network of tunnels. The area, designated the Site-57 Exclusion Zone, is covered by thick fog at all times of day.
Notable Locations:
Primary Containment Facility: The main building of the site, a large brutalistic-looking building built along the side of a mountain. This building follows the length of the road along the mountain, appearing as entrance tunnels and security buildings. Inside the mountain, however, there are sprawling underground bunkers that contain various anomalies not native to this area. The largest lab area, known as Research Area A is located here.
Research Area A: This area is used for study of all anomalous objects housed within the Primary Containments Facility to prevent unnecessary transport of dangerous anomalies to separate areas within the site.
The Mines: Throughout the area, there are a few abandoned mines. Most are non-anomalous though one has been recorded to go impossibly deep with seemingly no end. All mineshafts are sealed off, though they have occasionally been used by 3rd parties as shelter unbeknownst to the Foundation. The anomalous mineshaft has been converted into Research Area B.
Research Area B: This location is located in the anomalous mineshaft. It consists of a surface-level elevator that goes down a currently unknown distance. Current expeditions downward have reached depths of ~3 kilometers before contact was lost. The laboratories built on the surface here are used for the study of anomalous locations in the area of the site, including the mineshaft.
Anomalous Locations: Some locations within the site area include The Bottomless Mineshaft, The Grey Lake, and The Black Pillar.
The Grey Lake: This lake, simply referred to as The Lake, is an anomalous body of water. The water in the lake is completely opaque and colored grey like cement. Any biological matter that is directly submerged shows immediate necrosis.
The Black Pillar: Believed to be the source of the thick fog covering the area of the site, The Pillar appears to have no hazardous anomalous effects. It has only two things of note, the first being that the area covered in fog is directly centered upon it, and the fog becomes immensely thick and almost black within 19 meters of the Pillar. The second is that faint whispering can be heard when making physical contact with the Pillar.
The Barracks: This cluster of buildings is used to house all on-site staff and security, as well as Class-D Personnel.
On-Site Task Force:
Task force Epsilon-33, "Smoke and Mirrors" is the MTF team permanently assigned to this site.
Site Director: Site Director Stephen Spanns.
Rules:
1. Keep things age-appropriate. We don't know who will be playing on this thread.
2. Keep unrelated arguments to PMs.
3. Please do not fight unless both players wish to do so.
4. You may play as a staff member, security, part of the assigned MTF team, a Class-D, or an anomaly. Anomalies cannot exceed Keter class.
5. Try to keep others engaged. It's never fun to drown out other people's playstyle by trying to force your story. Cooperation and improvisation are pieces of a great roleplay.
The loudspeakers in the buildings and on PA systems throughout the area crackle to life.
"This is Site Director Stephen Spanns. Just a quick little announcement today. The Primary Containment Facility is due to handle the arrival of a few new SCPs. The transport should show up throughout the day. A friendly reminder to all staff that if you see something, say something. All suspicious activity should be reported to site management."
The announcement ends and business continues as normal.
In a small cramped office sits a young man behind a computer with a mound of paperwork. He pushes his glasses up his nose, framing his bright green eyes. He runs a hand through his fluffy black hair as he straightens his black t-shirt and lab coat. His blue jeans look slightly dirty along with his black combat boots. His types some papers into the computer with a tired sigh.

*Any restrictions on Anomaly characters other than class?*
*Nope! Have fun and flex your creative muscles. SCP's can be literally anything. Theres one in space that's just an Alaskan shrimp with a length of 2 lightyears. And it's an official one
The guard shrugs. "They give you a definitive amount? All I know is that the intake is mostly safe class objects, with a few sentient ones."
"Nope. They just said log them when they arrive." he says, finally finding his mug and drinking from it. "This is gonna be a nightmare..."
"Well, If you want I can try to give you a heads up when something comes along."
He thinks for a moment.
"On a side note, has anyone figured out why that obelisk is pumping out all this fog? Makes it really unnerving walking along the road, like something out of Stephen King's The Mist."

"Thanks...and its probably part of its structure. Part of why its an anomaly."

"Well, looks like it's about time to switch shifts, so I'll see you around later." The guard gives a nod and heads down the hall, eventually rounding a corner and disappearing from sight.

One of the site's security staff walks by, deciding to stop and chat for a while.
"Busy day today, eh?"
Alan looks up and nods. "Yeah. With all these new arrivals coming in I have a lot of stuff to file..." he grumbles, looking for his coffee mug.

"Tell me about it, they've had security on overtime too. Transfers are always the hardest part. At least there's slightly better pay today though."
"For you maybe.." Alan grumbles, still looking for his coffee.
