[Cianuro's getting all his info from his replica of Whitesnake's Log and the Green Dolphin's Ship Log, both of which are now lost. Whitesnake did a lot of research into Stands throughout the journal but since it's now lost, it wouldn't be unrealistic to say that it's forgotten knowledge that's only now just being uncovered again. I mean, if you think about it, with his power he was best set up to examine Stands, and it's unlikely any other users would have gotten a chance as good as his (literally living amongst a tribe that co-exists with Stands as part of their culture for a while)]

"From the stars of the inner sea, from the tower of insight, from the four corners of paradise, let them know; their story is filled with blessings. Only those free of sin may pass... Garden of Avalon!”
”The elements coalesce, amalgamate, and bring forth the star that interweaves all creation. Bow down with death! Enuma Elish!”
Cianuro is pretty taken aback to hear that this guy's accepted his fate, and says 'Oh...I'm sorry, but at least he'll be coming round so I'll get to meet him!' He then realises how insensitive that sounds and moves straight onto his question by saying 'Kinda...I also want to find a Stand Fruit somewhere. I read about them and they're super rare, but they're basically just regular fruit that got infected with the Stand Virus, and eating it transfers the virus to the host. Having my own Stand, not one that I get through some Scroll, would be awesome, but chances are that I won't find one. Oh, and before you ask, I can't use my Stand to make one either. I can create the fruit but not the virus since they're separate things, and I can't create the virus alone out of regular bacteria since there's a whole thing with me changing living organisms into other organisms, since they'll change appearance but keep their identity, so if I was to change into you, I wouldn't get your memories or powers, obviously, only your appearance. Same with the Stand Virus; I could create a visual replica, but it would act the same as the original virus.'
Urahara nods along with his words "Don't worry, I'm fine with dying, I've lived a good and happy life. As for the stand virus, that isn't my business, I'm a plunge guy, not a stand man."

*True, but it feels like you’re heavily misunderstanding what ships logs are. Even if his stand gave him an explanation of stands, it wouldn’t be the ship logs as ship logs are just the path the followed and what happened. It would be like ‘Left Japan on August 18, 1672 at 8:04 AM target destination: Taiwan Estimated time of arrival: August 28. Had (enter amount here) pounds of food and water. On day 5 of journey, the ships hull was breached. Repairs took 3 hours. Reached Taiwan on August 30, 1672 at 4:27 PM.’ It would just be a basic recollection of the journey, maybe including that they got into some fights, but not going in depth. An actual thing that would explain stands would be Whitesnake’s personal journal. Even then, it’s really subjective. Like what if he said “Give me something to do harm” would it give him a knife, a gun or a sword? If it gives him a knife, knifes weren’t originally intended to kill, just to cut stuff. It’s just a poor explanation for why he would have all this*

*Honestly I’d compare what Hello Builder does to the Oingo Boingo comic stand. That stand can tell the future, which is what the stand users wants, but it doesn’t want what isn’t relevant to them. So it’s like using Google’s search by Relevance thing, you get what matters to what you want. Although it doesn’t make much sense to me either way about it.*
[Yeah sorry guys my explanation was pretty awful since it was fairly early in the morning when I wrote it and I wasn't totally awake yet lol, obviously bacteria and virus are different things lmao, wasn't really thinking so I used 'em interchangeably, but both a living organisms so the explanation should still work. Also for the Ship's Log thing, for Whitesnake I was imagining it was his like personal journal but used the term 'logbook', and I can see how that created confusion, but for the Green Dolphin's it was actually their Ship's Log, but it would only contain short passages for each day, like maybe a sentence's worth of info, which is why Cianuro had heard of the Zeppeli family but little on who they actually were and what happened to them.
When it comes to the 'give me something to do harm' idea, that wouldn't work as the Stand changes things based on properties they have. If he wanted to turn something into a weapon, he'd have to change another weapon in the first place to do it, like changing a dagger to a sword or a squirt gun to a real one. The two items need to have a clear link in order to shift, which is why the book can go into another book containing the info he needed]

"From the stars of the inner sea, from the tower of insight, from the four corners of paradise, let them know; their story is filled with blessings. Only those free of sin may pass... Garden of Avalon!”

*Call it a log or diary if you like, but the fact of the matter is that Whitesnake’s records are the only written source that’s directly about Stands or precisely discusses what they are and how they work to exist, and that’s exactly what he was looking for. And I’m assuming the Stand works based on relevancy. My perception of it is that it’s kind of like The MATTEKUDASAI, but then again, we’ve only ever seen Jodio’s gang give very precise directions to it as to what to turn into. So I don’t really know. But please don’t start an argument about this when it doesn’t need to happen. Stands are sometimes vague and that’s just a fact. I mean, look at stuff like King Crimson, Soft & Wet, and so many others.*

*Right, sorry. I just don’t think shiver’s explanation makes very much sense*
